Reminds me of Vienna but not in a good way. They gilded a bunch of statues like Richard Strauss and other cultural figures. They authorities also gilded parts of the Soviet WWII memorial that they are required to keep up by treaty. It gives these parts of the city a tacky Disneyland feel.

People hanging out fresh editions of the old state flag is a handy metric for racist colonialist bigotry. These neighbors never flew the old flag until a year after the new flag was adopted. My neighbors who always flew the old state flag bought the new edition a month after it came out.
