Baumann just accused me of being a fetus in 2004 in the company slack. Someone report him to Appelman. Plz and thx
Baumann just slacked this exact thing to me when I notified him about it
Interesting response from Crew Chief Adrian Johnson to the pool reporter on the José Caballero pitch timer violation today: "He's been warned all season. We were instructed not to warn him. We were instructed to violate him. That's what it is. It's a violation."
Not the ideal location for that pitch. Brandon Lowe now has 3 HR on the season.

Rob Reiner’s chameleonic nature as a director empowered others to shine, but it also made it so he would never get his proper due for his skill as a filmmaker. I wrote about Reiner in the latest edition of The Martell 100 and updated my top 100 rankings: mattmartell.substack.com/p/the-direct...
It's quite amusing that I read only 26 of the 28 articles I wrote in 2025
Shoutout to the dude in baseball pants on top of the Mariners dugout
I’m cat-sitting for my neighbors and Yuzu wants this game to end so she can have the empty crib
Meet Armando, the Section 409 trumpeter, who flew in from Panama today with 8 of his friends. This is their first time at Yankee Stadium. They landed at Newark at 5 pm today and came directly to the game. Somehow, Armando got his trumpet through security. And everyone up here is glad he did.
Same, but from the aux box in Narnia (ft. Some dude in a Paul O’Neill jersey)
Brian Snitker’s stepping down is a sad day for those of us on the Sports Illustrated baseball staff when this happened.
In this story, I also go into Aaron Boone's decision to take out Max Fried in the 7th inning:
On the latest episode of We Live in Hell, it’s ChatGPT Night at Citi Field.
