18. DOOM Eternal + The Ancient Gods One of, if not the best FPS of all time. The way the game gives you all these resources and ways to manage them combined with the quick swapping is simply unmatched. The only con I can think of is that the 2nd DLC isn't as good as the 1st one and that's it. (10)

17. Star Fox (2026) It's Star Fox 64 which everyone loves for very good reasons, I think this remake is pretty good in general. The only issue I have with this version is with the English voice acting for the enemies/bosses which is atrocious compared to the original. (8.5)

It's finally here! I've already been testing it out and aside from not being able to enable HDR in games (who knows why), everything else has been great so far. It's very quiet and everything runs smoothly. I'm very pleased with it so far.

Another update: Bought this one but it won't get here till next week. "Sapphire Pulse AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT 16GB GDDR6" Pretty excited to see how some games run on it. (I say this but 99% of the games I play can run on a potato PC)

Update: Got a new PSU and I already installed it. The next step is picking up a 9070 XT. I decided to go all out with my 2019 rig because of how everything is getting more expensive, it feels like it's worth it. May my 5800x3D survive for years to come.

16. Deltarune Chapter 5 Simply incredible in every possible way, wake me up when Chapter 6 comes out. (10)

15. Deltarune Ch 1-4 Decided to replay Ch 1-4 before Ch 5 drops in a couple of days and I'm once again blown away by how incredible Deltarune is in every way. I genuinely can't think of a single thing I'd change. If you're not experiencing this masterpiece in the making, you're missing out. (10)

14. OPUS: Echo of Starsong I liked the story, music, and art of this 10 hour story focused game, but whenever it tried to be a game I simply didn't enjoy it. The puzzles were way too simple and I wish it had just been a VN. Also the ending didn't hit me the way it seems to have for others. (7)

I wonder if I should finally give these games a try, I've heard good stuff about them and the bundle is like 25 bucks.

13. Pragmata The fusion of hacking and shooting is fantastic, the game keeps introducing new enemies, new mechanics, new weapons, and challenges as you progress. It also has a pretty decent story which is mostly about two characters talking with each other and it works very well. I loved it. (9.5)

12. Dawnsbury Days - Good Little Children Never Grow Up Fantastic expansion. It’s shorter than "The Profane Barrier", but far more ambitious. It honestly made me even more excited for the level 10–15 campaign, since you can clearly see how much the developer has improved with each release. (8.5)

Got back into Strive because of the 2.0 update and it's been a fun time so far, ended today's session with someone ragequitting on me which sure feels nice.

11. Dawnsbury Days - The Profane Barrier Finally got around to playing this expansion, and it’s just as great as the base game. It really feels like a labor of love that keeps improving with constant updates. Anyone that is a fan of D&D or Pathfinder should absolutely check it out. (8.5)

10. Radiant Silvergun One of the best shmups ever made. The game throws a new boss at you almost every damn minute and it just keeps going and going. The camerawork, graphics, and OST are amazing as well. It’s also really cool to see just how much this game influenced ZeroRanger. (9)

9. Absolum Not a fan of roguelikes, yet here I am again because it’s from the devs behind SoR4. The game is beautiful and the gameplay is stellar in every way. I still wish it didn’t lean on roguelike elements, but it’s so good that I can easily recommend it to anyone that enjoys beat ’em ups. (9)

8. Mario Tennis Fever This is a game you get to play with friends or online. The single player content is lacking but the core gameplay is fantastic. I think I would enjoy the ranked online play more if they implemented proper sets and games instead of the current first to score 7 format. (8)

7. Slay the Spire I am not really into roguelikes in general, but I decided to give this one a try and I can see why people like it. It's pretty addictive and gives you a dopamine rush when you get a powerful deck going. I personally enjoyed playing as the Silent the most out of the main cast. (8)

6. Resident Evil Requiem RE9 somehow blends classic RE with action RE in one game successfully. As someone who did not like RE7/8, I am glad Capcom finally made a game that I feel is almost as good as RE2/4. It definitely has a few flaws, but overall it's exactly what I want from the series. (8.5)

5. Amnesia: The Bunker As a huge fan of RE2, this feels like a true love letter to that style of survival horror: environments you have to learn, resource management, and a stalker. The use of darkness is fantastic, and the immersive sim design elements work incredibly well in a horror game. (8.5)

4. Ghosts 'n Goblins Resurrection This is a game for absolute maniacs. I made it to the credits, and I know there is still more to do, but I think I have had my fill. There is a lot to love here for anyone who appreciates classic arcade design. Also the main theme will always be a banger. (7)

3. TouHou Makuka Sai ~ Fantastic Danmaku Festival Part III A fan remake of Touhou 8, and it is honestly incredibly impressive. You can really feel the love the developers have for the franchise in every detail. From the art and gameplay to the music, everything is simply excellent. (9)

2. DRAGON QUEST I HD-2D Remake What a glow up for one of the most important games of all time. It is still a fairly simple RPG by today’s standards, but anyone interested in gaming history should play it. I had already played DQ1, and the small additions and changes really paid off. (7.5)

1. X-YZE I feel like almost no one has played this game, which is a real shame because it is a great time. It is clearly inspired by the early Ys titles, lasts around 3 hours, and has a surprisingly decent and touching story for such a minimalist game. Also it's free so go check it out. (7.5)

I also went to a lot of very weeb places and played a ton of shmups at arcades, which I of coursed had to do. I am not really someone who likes buying/owning a lot of stuff, so I did not buy much. But I did get a physical copy of one of my favorite games of all time, and it is in perfect condition.

The highlight for me was Dotonbori in Osaka. People told me you go to Osaka to eat, but I did not realize how true that was until I got there. I spent days just hanging around Dotonbori and honestly it was the best part of my entire trip. It's simply unreal. Random pics of some stuff I had:

31. Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road A love letter to fans of the IE series. I do have some issues with it: Forced to grind to progress, having to play matches twice in Chronicle mode, the balance in general. And yet, if you enjoy anime and sports games it is absolutely a fantastic experience. (8/10)

30. Resident Evil 4 (2023) I got in the mood for some RE so I replayed the RE4 Remake. Playing on the hardest difficulty really makes the entire game shine, from the resource management to how aggressive the enemies are. Every room and every encounter is so memorable. It's just peak. (10)

29. Divinity Original Sin 2 After loving BG3 I played DOS2 with three friends. We went through the entire game on the hardest difficulty and this game is genuinely tough. It was a blast figuring out how to win every fight. I did not care about the story at all but everything else is fantastic. (9)

28. Neon White The third speedrunning FPS I’ve played in a row, and easily the best of them. Collecting every gift and medal is incredibly addictive, and it’s clear how much love and care went into crafting each level. The music and even the story are pretty good. I definitely recommend it. (9)
