It assumes you know how a TTRPG works, but that you don't know how Draw Steel works, that you don't know how the Codex works, and that you haven't had the time to read the adventure beforehand (all of which were true). So as the GM you create the campaign (two clicks) and you're greeted with this:

Hier c'était mardi #JDR: j'ai enfin commencé ma campagne de #BladesInTheDark -- Londres 1902! \o/ Que pensez-vous de ma narration d'ouverture?

19 Juillet 1902 — milieu de l’après-midi
Lorsque vous arrivez sur le toit de la locomotive, le chef des cultistes est le dernier maillon du rituel.
Sa tête est engoncée dans un masque de cuir brun orné d’épaisses lunettes en verre, globuleuses comme des yeux de mouche, et d’un tube de matière osseuse reliant sa bouche à un cylindre de laiton accroché dans son dos.
Cet accessoire mis à part, il est entièrement nu, d’une maigreur cadavérique. Sa peau, boursouflée par les brûlures de la vapeur d’eau qui sort de la cheminée derrière lui, est constellée de scarifications dont la signification vous échappe… À l’exception d’une.
Fraîchement creusé dans sa poitrine par le croc de boucher ensanglanté qu’il tient dans sa main droite, vous voyez deux heptagones inscrits l’un dans l’autre, entourant un trou où vous voyez palpiter son coeur.
C’est une forme qui fait un écho immédiat à ce que vous voyez, au loin, devant vous. Pour l’instant encore partiellement éthérée mais devenant plus réelle à chaque seconde qui s’écoule, le train flotte vers une gueule à sept côtés, un gouffre géométrique impossiblement immense, au centre duquel pulse un vide absolu. Une abysse infinie. Vous la sentez qui aspire l’air hors de vos poumons, vos yeux hors de votre crâne. Il fait tellement froid.
Vous, le train, la poche de réalité autour qui peu à peu s’effrite— tout sera dévoré par Elle Dont Le Nom Véritable Ne Passera Mes Lèvres Que Pour En Arracher Le Dernier Souffle.
Le cultiste pousse un cri d’extase et s’élève à quelques centimètres au-dessus du toit du train.

So while I'm not terribly thrilled about Outgunned Superheroes (I guess I could use it to run Batman '66?), I am very much looking forward to #TwilightSword, their next, Zelda BOTW and Ghibli-inspired game. I bet my kids will love it too.

Hard to find in Montreal, but I finally scored a physical copy of #Outgunned Adventure (aka Indiana Jones/The Mummy/Tomb Raider/Uncharted: the #TTRPG). I can’t wait to try that one. The GM-facing part is a fantastic analysis of what makes this specific subgenre of films work, and is full of ideas.

This week’s #TTRPG haul: #Daggerheart limited edition! The book is gorgeous, and I look forward to reading it because the playtest manuscript had the best GM advice section I’d ever read in a TTRPG book. But check out those lozenge-faced d12! I’d never seen any of those before.

Core rulebook for Daggerheart limited edition. A set of very pretty dice is on top of it. Of particular note is that the “duality dice” are 2d12 with lozenge faces instead of the traditional pentagons.

Unfortunately, everything after Dino Crisis 2 that had the potential to be a Dino Crisis *anything* has fumbled the ball. The only thing I know of that even remotely succeeds at anything is this hack for the Outgunned tabletop RPG: (her character sheet names this lady Regina Grant. They know.)

This weekend’s #TTRPG pickup: after weeks of being sold out everywhere I looked in Canada, this physical copy of #Outgunned showed up at my FLGS. And there was much rejoicing.

Décidément, la Poste Pneumatique de Paris est une source d'inspiration inépuisable pour les #JDR situés durant la Belle Époque.

Une salle de traitement dela Poste Pneumatique de Paris, quelque part dans la première moitié du 20ème siècle. Le plafond est entièrement recouvert de tubes, et des opératrices reçoivent, lisent et redistribuent des messages qui arrivent dans des petits cartouches.
