Behold! The birthday pesto! I used pecans in lieu of pine nuts because with as much garlic is it it, the type of nuts hardly matters.

I went to an estate sale near me today because it was half off day. I got a Crate & Barrel woven serving tray, 4 placemats, and a NWT Tervis tumbler for $6. I saw a haunted doll. It wasn't priced. I picked it up and it was very heavy. @soozables.bsky.social and I think all the souls made it heavy.

I thought we had a package on our front porch, it looked like a black plastic mailers bag from afar. It moved. The neighborhood black cat was annoyed that I disturbed their nap.

I grew up with a mother who believed in using the good stuff which is why I am serving pretzels and Tastykake donuts in lead crystal bowls.

Dani DGAF is looking very serene here. She is the oddest cat I have ever known. Today we gave KitKat, Snickers, and Pig churu. Dani turned up her nose and walked away. It is cheap, dry Temptations treats for her and nothing else.

The youths are very busy in ways that did not occur to me in high school. Today she has an IB girls brunch followed by a Y2K in London themed birthday party. She has to take fruit trays to the brunch, and one of the girls has allergies so we made 2 separate plates to keep her safe.

I have long been a fan of reusing gift bags. This gift bag has been the designated Valentimes bag we use to give our kid her candy. We have had it at least 12 years. Next year I will take a photo of it, print it, and put it in the box with her Valentimes candy when she is away at college.

We were supposed to see some sunshine today, but that hasn't happened. A wedge of warm air is supposed to arrive later tonight and help us reach 40°, but that seems unlikely. I cannot believe the power lines have held up!

I know it is not served on the right kind of bread but innalmost 16 years of celiac I have never seen a gf kaiser roll, and we had to improvise with the cheese, but we had Taylor Pork Roll sandwiches for breakfast this morning.

We used to have an Australian priest at our church and he introduced us to the New Zealand Book of Common Prayer and I loved it. I have contemplated buying one for myself. This line of prayer has always stuck with me.

So, I came home for lunch and saw said cat and sent my spouse a text telling him that I saw Tootie Maker in the front yard, and that our cats were pissed. There has been much discussion about Tootie Maker and his whereabouts, but we haven't had another sighting. Until tonight when The Teen saw him.

The tree is decorated. We still need to put the sandbags around the base, and then put on the tree skirt. I didn't put on all of the ornaments, but I am very happy with it!
