A chaotic mood board, haha, because I've already spent too long on this. #BluePitHype #WriteSky #WritingCommunity #Writers
I guess those clear blue PNW summer skies are a thing of the past now. Not too many years ago you wouldn't have had to squint to see the Olympics.
Quick and dirty frame job after a trip to the Edmonds Art Festival, because Michael's has no good precut mats and I want to get this up right away. The frame suits it, anyhow. The 11x17 sang to me, but I know what size that mats and frames to, and the 5x7 will actually fit where I want to hang it.
One by my own grandmother, who painted landscapes, mostly desert scenes. I had them all shipped to me when I was closing out my parents' estate. Unfortunately, I have more paintings than wall space, so I have to swap them out from time. (There were two versions of this one, both framed!)
Well, bah. Best idea I have is these rubber dealies you slide onto the earpieces. There's also a doughnut-shaped version, and both styles are about $5 apiece. My more-flattering pair sit too low but these help a lot. (I think all glasses are unflattering on me, but that's another story.)
So here are mine, although I feel like there might be a couple hiding somewhere else, including the goth books although they're not strictly music. The rest of the cubes are LPs and other vinyl.
Our hooligan is Tristan. He's one of six kittens who all had some degree of Mom's brown tabby, but he's the one with the Siamese, and you can tell that from his behavior as much as his looks, lol. He was the closest to Idris, and seeing him subdued these days is hard. But I'm sure it won't last.
Oh well, as long as you're used to it, then. 😂 Work sent African violets, which I'm trying to hide from our cats on my office windowsill. I think one just didn't realize they weren't for snacking, but I don't necessarily trust the others. Otherwise, flowers have to go out to the deck.
It's funnier when it's not your cat. 🤣😭 (Click through or alt text for the best part.)
Cat folks! Looking for recommendations. The guy in front here will be needing a cat shirt/pajamas post-surgery on Monday. What have you tried and liked? If you went with an infant onesie, what size did you get? Bonus points for something I can pick up in the N. Seattle area this weekend. Thanks!
On the brighter side, this is probably not what the Fred Meyer merchandisers intended to communicate, but it made me laugh.
I hadn't been to Fred Meyer in a long time and was looking for things I couldn't find elsewhere, and now that I've been, I keep thinking about reading recently that the United States has expensive necessities and cheap luxuries. I didn't find what I needed and now I feel worse about everything.
He has a mast cell tumor in his spleen. He'll need oncology care to tell us how to proceed, but it will be complicated by his heart condition. This is a cat who is more terrified of going to the vet than anything else in the world. And he is my entire heart.
I will be using this mug a lot until our refrigerator is repaired, so for the foreseeable future.
The immediate reading list. There's a potential comp in the stack (iykyk) and two "professional development" books. But the library book comes first. I'm not doing a reading challenge this year because last year's kept me from taking on some long books, and this year I'm making up for that.
Have an unexpected drink at lunch, go shopping on Independent Bookstore Day, oh no. In my defense, three of these bolster my authorial ambitions and one is about my hometown. And none were technically impulse buys.
