I turned 12 that year, and it was EVERYWHERE. It was an especially big deal at school, with special coins we wanted to collect, etc. And everyone was united (no pun intended) in celebrating something that really did feel bigger than us. Even the superheroes got in on it (this is from my collection).
No furry friends, alas, but this is Zachary, our peace lily—so named because whenever he's thirsty, he wilts dramatically, as if to silently scream: "The pain! The pain!"
Think it's a good idea to break in? You're dead wrong. (Apologies if this doesn't strike you as humerus.)
I had another dream about lions at the door They weren't half as frightening as they were before But I'm thinkin' about eternity...
"I'm pleased and happy to repeat the news that we have, in fact, caught and killed a large predator that supposedly injured some bathers. But as you see, it's a beautiful day, the beaches are open, and people are having a wonderful time."
Are we sure it's not one of those guys who stay really still and wait until you're posing for a picture, then move and startle the crap out of you for viral videos? Either way, I'll take Scary Lucy.
Pretty happy with this promo poster-type thing for my contemporary fantasy novel series.
Quote post with something good that lasted longer than the Confederacy (1861-1865). My dog, Peppy (1974–1988).
Our fathers lit this fire in us. This is my dad, my brother, and me in front of Apollo 11, a couple of weeks before liftoff. (Dad was there working on Biosatellite 3.) We choose to go to the moon. Indeed. It still makes me tear up. And we all need to rediscover that collective lump in our throats.
Also, if emotional trauma counts, this messed me up but good. I didn't quite understand what, exactly, had happened. But I knew getting over your head in adult doings meant big feelings and, potentially, nobody to help you out with them.
When our peace lily feels a bit parched, it goes full drama queen and droops flat, like it's never been so dry and has no hope of feeling the touch of water ever again. Give it a little, and it perks right back up again. So tonight, my wife and I named it Zachary. "The pain! The pain!"
I didn't know about this, so thank you for the heads-up. For anyone interested, here's how to find the setting.
No cheating: your last saved pic of a celebrity is your therapist. (These are gonna be some loud sessions.)
A lot of South Florida is only habitable because of huge drainage canals. They spend billions just to keep Miami above water. Underground tunnels there isn't innovation—it's denial. But if they need a consultant, I know a guy.
I asked ChatGPT to create a meat-and-ferments food pyramid in the style of an informational poster you'd find in a school cafeteria. I think we could just tack this up as is.
I thought for sure someone would've gotten to this first, unless they did and I missed it.
I've followed the exploits of you and your colleagues for years now.
The #1 movie when you were 10 years old is how your 2026 is going to go. So...just like 2025.
I hear you. Yours is a lot more pleasant-looking than mine.
