Climate activist, vegan, reader, hard headed, wannabe writer, believer in degrowth, let's go solar, would rather be on a bike than in a car. Choosing to change before Climate Change makes me change. Boise native. Born when CO2 levels were at 322.55 ppm
Paramount, Amazon, Flock, Dodge, Walmart, Uber, Tesla and other large entities aren't looking out for the public. It's time we begin creating a new model that is supportive of people and our planet. Where do we start?
Want a whole new perspective on life, humanity, environment, resource use, and about everything else around you? Go vegan and a whole new world will open up to you. #vegan #govegan #fortheanimals #biodiversity #climate #environment
I like to believe civil rights activist Grace Lee Boggs. Ground up change will authentically reflect what people need and desire. Those at the top will only change as much as it continues to suit them.
I was in highshool in the mid 80s but don't recall reading any books because I was hungover or passed out in class. However I now have a book collection of around 1,500 books. These are just a few in my to read pile.
The front lawn of the Whitehouse in Idiocracy. Look much like it did last weekend.
Patrick Baboumain is the worlds strongest vegan. He's huge.
Decided to read The Iliad of Homer that I found at a thrift store a few weeks ago.
Yes, I do agree. The 1st image is the results I got after running the 2nd through Google Lens AI. The 2nd is of a signature by Johnny Cash in his book Man In Black that I found at a thrift store. He was addressing it to those at the CBA (Christian Booksellers Assiciation). The results are garbage. 😵💫
I am trapped and can't get up. She may be tiny and only 7 lbs but I can't get her off me. 😀
5th is a bit tired after a day playing outside. I named her 5th because she was the 5th from a litter of feral kittens I trapped 1.5 yrs ago. #Caturday
If only Oprah would give away induction hobs. "You get an induction hob! You get an induction hob! Everyone gets an induction hob!"
The majority of Dems believe in climate change and even have great concern about it. That's enough people to influence a significant curb in the current trajectory of climate change. They have the insights and knowledge to do so however they lack the will. Individually & collectively we can do it.
93 is a bit warm for this time of year in Boise. Let's get back down to the 70s and 80s.
This was on a pump in Eagle, Idaho a few weeks ago. Eagle as the rest of Idaho is Trump land.
Here are two of my recent thrift store finds that I purchased for $1 each. Both are quite collectable and worthy of reading for a historical perspective.
We need to listen to the advice of civil rights activist Grace Lee Boggs. Let's go around those in power by creating something new that empowers and serves the people. We can start by creating or finding different sources of goods instead of using Amazon.
This may appear to be unappealing to some but this vegan skillet of fried potatoes, tempeh, broccoli, spinach, onions and sliced tomatoes cooked on my induction cooktop is delicious.
My girlfriend stopped by to visit and my cat, Lexi, was quick to come out to greet her before she was able to get out of the car.
If done right we won't need to work at overthrowing capitalism. We just need to reimagine something new and create it. Civil rights activist Grace Lee Boggs is a great inspiration for creating that future.
We call ourselves intelligent but then we are stupid enough to destroy our home.
Each of these paintings consist of many brushstrokes which collectively make up an image. I look at each brushstroke as a representation of the way an individual lives their life. How we live collectively is exhibited through our impact upon the planet.
During the 80's I spent every lunch break in Jr and Sr high in the library reading the newspapers. I guess kids haven't seen newspapers on a stick. 😉
Notice the price differences between to posted sign and electronic tag on these bins at the Walmart on State St in Garden City?
I was at Walmart one evening and noticed the pricing on some produce wasn't right. The large print prices were less than the electronic tag price. I brought it up with the manager and they didn't know what happened.
I work at Idaho's largest hospital/employer (St Luke's Hospital) and this is the extent of their vegan meal options.
I wish that I had known of her before her death. She seems to have been an amazing person. There are a few of her quotes that I like.
