Sometimes it’s fun to imagine how a conversation developed in the ellipsis between the OP and the most recent comments.
I wonder what happens if you hit “it depends” for every question, because I’m pretty sure I did it for almost half of them.
TFW you stumble across an album you forgot existed for over 20 years and it turns out you can still sing along. Kind of frightening almost. Streaming is good for something. Though it would have been even cooler if I found it on tape at a used record store in a basement on Whyte.
Only a few pages in and I’ve already jumped the index to look for Ebird (and Duolingo). @nyhofs.bsky.social gets it. So would some of you.
This is a “Dudes Rock” post. We’ve had some brutal storms this year. A family in our church had their roof blow off and water coming in all over. Today, at least 10 guys from age 14 to their 70s climbed up to install a new roof. There was one professional roofer. The rest were middle school …
Heck of a storm. Pretty good aftermath. #yeg Photo credit: @nyhofs.bsky.social
When you think of Belgium, you all seem to only know Poirot and TinTin. I think about this guy.

It’s not exactly to the point, but if you wonder why it’s worth interrogating the narratives we tell about generations, eras, and trends:
I’ll take it. 20 years ago, I’d have fought you for calling me a Platonist. Now, I’m cool with it.
So a week and a half ago @nyhofs.bsky.social and I drove a vanload of students through the mountains on their Physical Geography field trip. Along the way they were boisterously studying for their final exam. I joked to their prof (i don’t teach geography, tbc, and have never…
Chaired an AGM and then ran with the boy to see Corb Lund. Productive evening.
Uh… Huh… I guess, maybe I’m a liberal after all. At least I’m not Spong, amiright?
Before @nyhofs.bsky.social beats me to it: Long-Tailed Ducks at Astotin Lake in Elk Island National Park in Alberta. #birds Longtails are normally rare, but seem to be showing up in unusual numbers this year. No idea why.
