Examples abound of long shots. I booked RHCP for $2500 in 1986 to play at my university. Did I think that they'd still be around 40 years later? No. But in 1991 they had a rabid fan base after "Mothers Milk" and were set to blow up. Then came Nirvana and the whole landscape changed.
At the end of Francis Ford Coppola's megaflop "Megalopolis" is this beautiful Pledge of Allegiance. Art.
Just watched the film "Megalopolis". The one that took Coppola 30 years to make and lost lots of $ on. There's been better flicks, and my interest waned back and forth throughout, but the message at the end made me think - "Right on, Mr. Francis Ford Coppola. Fine work sir."
