Located in Ōtepoti Dunedin, Aotearoa. Enjoyer of music, movies and mystery. Any questions? Yeah, me too. Tangata Tiriti.
I haven't felt one like that since living in Te Whanganui-a-Tara. Can't say I missed it.
I forgot to mention this earlier, but if you want discover new music on a new cooperative platform, @subvert.fm has now launched! You can find some of my music at www.subvert.fm/mike-kay, too.
This Friday past, I had the pleasure of watching Eclectique!, part of the Dunedin Fringe. Such a wonderful group of talented humans! I also had the honour of conducting a little past life regression exercise which seemed to go well. Ōtepoti, there's still a week of Fringe left to see amazing shows!
Tonight's the night! I know you have your ticket, but what about your friends? You're not the type of friend who lets others miss out, are you? Of course not, you're one of the good ones! www.dunedinfringe.nz/events/eclec...
Less than a week left until Eclectique! at the Dunedin Fringe. The lineup is excellent, full of talented people and me, too. I look forward to seeing you there: www.dunedinfringe.nz/events/eclec... #mikekayknows #mystery #psychicentertainment #esoterica #thoughtreading #ōtepoti #dunedinfringe
Fun fact: both February and March 2026 have a Friday the 13th. I'll be performing in Eclectique! on the March one as part of Dunedin Fringe. Tickets: www.dunedinfringe.nz/events/eclec... #mikekayknows #mystery #psychicentertainment #esoterica #ōtepoti #dunedin #dunedinfringe #mysteryarts
This will be my first time performing at the Dunedin Fringe, and five years since performing in one (Newcastle). Do I still have it? Only one way to find out: www.dunedinfringe.nz/events/eclec... #mikekayknows #mystery #psychicentertainment #esoterica #mysteryarts #ōtepoti #dunedin #dunedinfringe
This morning I took my first ride up Te Ara Moana to Port Chalmers. The ride was lovely, though I'm still not clear exactly how one is supposed to get to Te Ara Moana from Ōtepoti centre. Might figure that out next time.
Watching one of my favourite Xmas films. So many small delights throughout.
You know that guy who's sat in a bar reading a cookbook from the Library and drinking dry white wine? Yeah, that's me.
All this talk about risotto made me hungry. Mushroom, courgette, grana padano.
Follow up query: Where will I find that luck? The cards: You'll get news causing you to make a choice. That, along with belief in yourself, will bring it to you.
Query: How do I mourn a city? The cards: With a little luck, the new home you find will help close the door.
Post you from a different era. Me in the mid-1990s as well. This was at a party in Boston, and I'd only recently gotten over my miserable phase of actively avoiding having my photo taken.
There is no 'I' in Wellington, but there is a 'me'. Me am in Wellington.
What a lovely surprise this morning! I think I'll take this to work with me...
Had the pleasure of attending the opening of Te Whata o Kaituna today. Wonderful space, with amazing community energy. Am I the only one who gets emotional when a library opens?
As much as I'd love to share an IG post here, they're rubbish, so this screenshot will have to do. It looks like there are only 20 tickets left to Dirtease South vol 5, so if you're keen, or in Invercargill (or both) you may want to hop on www.trybooking.com/nz lest FOMO rule your soul.
I'm out of semi-self-imposed performance retirement! 6 September 2025, if you're in or near Invercargill, it'll be a great show. Come along and wish me a happy un-retirement.
Felt it was only right to show my #MWSecretSantaAoNZ present-opening platform (one of a set):
