Wonderful haul from #Blackwell'sBookshop's Sale. 'Robeson' (RRP £25.99).... £3. 'Slaves' (RRP £14.99).... £3. 'Dowson' (RRP £19.99).... £1. Absurd. 🤡 The #WhiteHouse book struck me as apropos, given the endeavours of the Orange Obscenity #Trump & his #MAGA goons to expunge African American History.
I'm slightly obsessed with THE MYSTERY OF EDWIN DROOD & today I spotted this #FolioSociety edition, with its handsome boards, looked inside, & discovered that it's illustrated by the fabulous #CharlesKeeping. £2!! LOOK at these! There are 23 of 'em, perfectly placed throughout the text. A gem.

Had to buy this Jules Verne... The second I saw it, I was fifteen again. These elegant Penguins, and the vividly jacketed Corgis (see Sturgeon cover) that came out around the same time, were how my generation got into classic sci-fi. Original price, 35p!
Picked up this (HB) beauty today for £4.50. At least £10 online. Contains loads of rare goodies, including a previously unpublished script by the mighty John Dickson Carr for the legendary radio series, Appointment With Fear, narrated by The Man In Black. Yum, yum!
