Probably talking about airplanes. Airline Captain, aviation podcaster, warbird pilot, aviation history nerd. Mike In The Front: Aviation Adventures podcast is available on your favourite podcast platform. MikeInTheFront.ca
Incredible night sky while enroute YYZ—>SFO last night. Saw some wildfires in Southern Utah as well.
A little forward slippy in the Chippy. Great day for flying today. Two Stearman rides, two Chipmunk rides. One of my Chip pax is a 787 Captain who also flies Chipmunks in the UK. Always a pleasure flying with a fellow warbird pilot! 🐿️
Would not trade this job, this career, this journey for anything. No sir.
Went from flying 80+ year old warbirds earlier this week to a 1 month old jet airliner today. Talk about range. This A220 has a new cabin featuring larger IFE screens. The gear wells and engine nacelles are sparkly clean!
Today was a perfect day for warbird flying. I’m lucky to fly passenger rides in these two iconic biplanes; the DeHavilland Tiger Moth, and Boeing Stearman. You can fly in them too! More details here: www.warplane.com/aircraft/fli...
The Lancaster crew at Canadian Warplane Heritage today getting the airplane ready for a weekend of flying.
Season 1 Finale! EP 15 is now available ft Air Race X pilot Mike Tryggvason. Remember the thrills of the Red Bull Air Race? As an airshow pilot, Mike is now taking his skills to the world stage. Learn more about his story and Air Race X here www.mikeinthefront.ca/e/ep-15-mike...
After years of being an Airbus guy I checked out on my first Boeing! No tray table but not bad! Theres not many airplanes quite as nostalgic as the open cockpit Stearman.
Had the pleasure of catching USA vs. Belgium today on a Seattle layover and the Belgian’s quieted down that stadium very well. Still, post match USA fans were telling me good luck while I walked out wearing a Belgium hat. Well done Belgium but my heart is still with England and Egypt!
Today was the best. Snowbird 9 and I share the same last name (no relation) so he let me sit in his jet.
Post war, the Lancaster had its gun turrets removed, and nose and tail sections streamlined for Lancastrian conversion. It was a unique way to travel as passengers sat sideways in the cabin. I hope they brought their earplugs!
After listening to Ep 12, listener @flyguyyyc.bsky.social sent in these vintage Trans-Canada Airlines timetables from 1946!! TCA was using converted Lancaster bombers to carry passengers known as the Avro Lancastrian. You could make the journey from Montreal to London in a speedy 14.5 hours!
Warbird flying season is back. I got up in both the Tiger Moth and Chipmunk today. Great day for it!
Questionable mountain formation on the arrival into LAX… I’d send a team of men out to name it, but they’d never find it.
The Supermarine Spitfire is my favourite aircraft of all time. To learn more about it, check out my conversation with Spitfire pilot Dave Hadfield in Episode 10. open.spotify.com/episode/4SxF...

Saw some lightning near the Wiarton area in the climb out from Toronto so decided to see what was happening there. YIKES
Usually my view from the flight deck is the best. But tonight the view from 3F took the cake.
Recurrent A220 sim complete ✅. Shifting focus to recurrent Tiger Moth & Chipmunk ground school that I’ll be teaching this spring and getting familiar with the Harvard and Stearman for this season.
Making pretend airplane noises today. Hangar flying season has begun 📚
