The dangling foot and limp tail of a black cat who is very asleep. He’s on a shelf in an open critter National cage, legs and tail dangling over the edge. A comfy boy who knows how to relax!

Got this guy off the streets, vetted, and now living in a home with a very comfortable sink. He was fighting to survive and now he’s safe and loved. Also, he has a sink.

His right ear is torn at the tip, but that does not detract from his dapper good looks.

His name is Kevin.

Once he is defrocked, vaccinated, and treated for parasites of various kinds, he will be released back to whence he came - and established colony of TNRd cats with a caretaker and shelter.

Skipper says it’s food time. Lordy, this boy can EAT.

A longhair black cat sitting on the back of an upholstered chair. She has green eyes, a small white patch on her chest, and a pink tongue protruding from her closed mouth in a derpy fashion.

Also, her pupils are two different sizes. In a normal cat, this would be a medical emergency, but in this cat, it’s a permanent and non-dangerous condition (cleared by her specialist).

This cat’s legal representation would like it known that their client is not, despite appearances, a derpy cat. This cat has a long documented history of being both loving and evil, a bully and a cuddler , but never derpy or remotely derp-ish. Any questions regarding her definitely non-derpy disposition should be directed to her PR department. Thank you.

Nature doing a Spirograph.

A dried, brown leaf in the snow. The very end of its stem has been frozen to the ground and the wind has blown it so it has made a circular pattens in the snow as it goes around and around its frozen stem tip.

The result is three concentric circles in the snow.

Bunny Cupcakes agrees! She’s been on Solensia for a while, now. Not just for her arthritis, but also her stomatitis. She’s still a grumpy old girl, but that’s just her personality, not pain.

I think about this cat… how he lived wild and had to survive on his own from a young age. Now he has a home. A family. And his very own dog. When he was out hunting mice in a ditch in the cold, just trying to scrape by, he never could have imagined his life now. Believe in a better future.

A large German Shepherd Dog laying on his side on a dog bed. Nuzzled up against his neck and chest is a tabby and white shorthair cat. The dog looks at the camera with a tolerant expression, while the cat has his eyes closed, his front feet held in bunny paws, and a blissful smile on his face.

The cat was feral for the first part of his life. He had no name and no one to care for him. He hunted rodents at night to survive, hiding by day to avoid humans. He was TNR’d and for the next year, he lived as a cared-for feral. But over time, little by little, he learned to trust people.

And now, he has a family who loves him. And a dog who graciously tolerates his affectionate cuddling.

We don’t know what the future holds for us. But even if right now it feels like we’re in a cold ditch, hunting rodents and just trying to survive… well, you never know. Things might turn out all right. With a little hope, some kindness, and a metric fuck ton of persistence, we may be able to shape a future we cannot now imagine. One that takes a wholly unexpected turn and brings us to a much better place.

So keep hoping. And keep going.

I live with a goblin. #caturday

A longhair black cat with slightly scraggly fur is sitting in a round stainless steel sink. She has one paw placed daintily on the edge of the countertop while she looks up at you with a derpy expression, her tongue slightly out between her front teeth.

She has definite crazy eyes, her right pupil is small and her left pupil is big, making her look like a cartoon character.

This cat is clearly part goblin.

Sarah Jane wants you to know that it’s okay to feel overwhelmed now and again. It’s all been a lot. And there’s surely more to come. Take some time. Give yourself some grace. Be kind to you.

The little tips of her canine teeth are visible, giving her a slightly vampire-ish appearance. Her yellow green eyes are open wide and staring blankly into space. One front paw rests limply on her neck, the other sticks out in a different direction as if forgotten.

It’s possible that she’s contemplating the vastness of the universe and her place in it. Or perhaps she’s just realized that the world is changing in ways she does not like, but is powerless to stop. Or maybe how the vulcanization of rubber has led to so many advances, yet has had so many unforeseen consequences.

But most likely, she’s enjoying the heat of the dishwasher that’s directly below the countertop on which she lies.

Because she’s a cat. And cats know how to grab the little pleasures in life when they can.

Find a little thing that makes you happy and just… let that pleasure wash over you. Whatever it may be - the heat of a running dishwasher, a nice bag of popcorn, the sound of the birds, a soft breeze. Focus on the nice feeling. Remember how much good is still there.

Just a dog with his cat and his giraffe.

Towards the edge of the bed, but still touching both catch and dog is a small stuffed giraffe toy. The giraffe is also happy with a big grin on its face because it has two cuddle buddies and no one is currently chewing on it. When you’re a dog toy, you learn to enjoy the quiet moments of life.

Inky. Still feral. Still FeLV+. Still thriving. (He doesn’t allow touching yet, but he’s willing to sniff me if he thinks I’m not looking.)

He loves to play with those plastic spring toys and roughhouse with his companion cat, but only when I’m not in the room. Also thinks cardboard boxes are super cool. Paper bags are good, but not as good as boxes.

Crinkle tunnels get a solid paws up from him, especially when used in an ambush attack on another cat.

This one was the end for me.

A photo taken at a grocery store of “Oscar Mayer Gummy Bologna” that is apparently strawberry flavored. In the package are pink round slabs of … gummy candy bologna. It’s bologna-shaped candy. That’s gummy. And strawberry flavored.

This is clearly the work of malign forces meant to corrupt souls.

Whether she is planning a murder or is just being a creeper is yet to be determined. But it’s very suspicious behavior either way.

Prudence. She exists not quite on the same plane as the rest of us. She always seems surprised to find herself wherever she is. It’s like the world rotates under her and she just unexpectedly touches down now and again. She is perfect. Whoever dumped her and her kittens in the woods was a fool.

Because this cat is not entirely of this world. She is a wise and gentle soul, too pure for this earthly existence. She moves through layers and layers of the universe seeing all and judging not.

Also, she once ended up in the ER hospital because she was attacked by a sheep.
