Scene it's based on

The thumping beckons. Radios, whispers and heavy boots with heavier guns. Ren is staring at the door when the pitter patter of Goro’s pulse goes still and Ren dies for the second time. “…Honey?”

Goro is curled into him. His head is down and the button rests in his loose grip. Every instinct wants to sink his teeth in. To drink him dry, to yank Goro free from whatever oblivion he’s been thrown in. But instead, he cradles Goro and kisses his hair. Instead, he promises forever can be this too.

Sumire. Ryuji. Mishima.

He hadn't fully verbalised it in any real way to himself or braced the weight of the time that awaited him after. How his life had grown past finding comfort in the quiet halls and empty pleasantries. How returning would be a dull knife to the spleen. Weeks, months, maybe even a year. To be tossed back under the tow when he had finally known air. Ren was a fool to think Goro wouldn't claw his way back to him.

It's been 84 years but finally ATOTT finale preview! #jjw

As light flooded the walls of pebbled iron, unease stirred between Goro’s ribs as the woman before him took her final breath.
Her fading nails dug bloody divets into her cheeks as her flesh, her pressed luxury suit, her silver Rolex and even her screams; grated away to trails of ash. Takamaki’s gloved hand flew to her mouth. As sun-bleached vertebrae coiled about the sky and esclipsed the skyskrappers, Goro saw nothing but red. Red rain, red sky. It was as if Shibuya had been cleaved in two. Students laughed. Couples and coworkers alike engaged in casual conversation in and out of the station as their peers tore their throats on their own screams unseen. The mania rippled. Limbles groups clung in bunches with fading stubs. A feet away, a man—a torso, bald and greying, flailed uselessly on wet pavement as he cried names that earned no response.
“Miyu!! Akari!! What is happening!? What on earth is happening!?” They locked eyes as he jotted two smoky stumps. “H-help me! P-please! Where is my family!?”
Okumura rushed past and knelt just as he turned to flakes of ash. Her face went white as the sudden chorus of cries grew defeaningly silent. Ice sunk into his marrow. Goro didn’t care for that man or the countless other lives extinguished to his back. But the message was still written across the face of every Thief around him.
Whether he wanted to save their lives didn’t matter.
No one knew what to do.

The scent of dew on clean stone, the jovial students clad in colorful wool, adults in starched suits and dress skirts. Dancers, politcians, swindlers. Soothing hydrangeas, fried fowl and roasted purple spuds from wooden vendors. No longer was his soul home to any wonder or longing. There was no subtle lift of his top lip, nor did venom claw free from the slate pits of his gaze. Gradually, such displays became meaningless to him.

And that numb indifference frightened her more than the barrel of any gun.

Nails deep in the rough bark, Morgana scaled tree beside Leblanc until he reached the window sheilding the bare shoulders that peaked above thick blue comforters. Akechi was sprawled over Ren like the blanket on his back and even asleep, Ren looked more than fine with that. Well, he supposed that made sense. Except for the part where they were both shirtless. The attic wasn’t that warm.

He didn’t get it. He didn’t get a lot of things about this.

“Greetings,” Akechi said after a quick recovery. Bright TV smile on his face and everything. “You must be Futaba-chan. I’ve heard a lot about you.”

‘Greetings’ huh? Finally, Futaba met someone more socially awkward than she was. Ever just look at someone and think. Against all odds. 'Yeah, I could take them out'. Akechi inspired that feeling in her. He might be taller and stronger with superior stats but Futaba just felt like she could destroy him. Kinda like Yusuke. There were just some people who exuded boomer energy and he was one of them. There was no way she’d feel intimidated by someone wearing argyle. This was gonna be a piece of cake.

Futaba's voice never fails to entertain

Okay, that was….a lot.

And Futaba was really starting to reevaluate Akechi’s boomer status. On his own, when he wasn’t mad, or in the presence of the people he hated. He was manageable, downright lame, and awkward with the way he laughed through most of his own bad jokes. Even online, at his grumpiest, he didn’t scare her. Strolling in and blackmailing everyone would be a bit of a power move if it weren’t for the fact that it was her friends being blackmailed.
