American in Europe here. I have a window. It opens like this, and that is the full opening. Even if window units were easy to get (they are not), one us not going to fit there. Sash windows are pretty uncommon, to be honest, and mostly in older building that haven't been retrofitted.
Look at this this thing from "On Guard Bunco", a 1974 educational short. It's like a toy, but appears to be a road legal vehicle we aren't meant to find surprising.

I have a big, non-lab dog who is convinced she is a little yappy dog*, and could almost be a comedy duo by herself (also she steals shoes). *according to breed descriptions, sighthounds rarely bark, but she refuses to read breed descriptions.

To me, nothing captures the arbitrary capriciousness of life like dogs. Hedy was found stray and injured in a bog by hikers when she was a year old. Now, almost 5, she lives a life of comfort, and her favourite thing is going to coffee shops. Why should this happen to some dogs, but others?
Yeah, If you do it right, dogs love crates. Ours got her crate so she would stop guarding the couch. It's where she takes most of her naps now.
It could always be worse. Someone could be speculating about whether the AI actor thing is a virgin.
Summer is ending. The signs are all here. The nights are getting longer, the air is cooler, the dog has claimed the window seat in front of the radiator as her own.
Quicksand exists! I was as surprised to learn this as anyone else, but this park has multiple quicksand warnings. Turns out you just need to learn where to look.

Dies anyone else have a dog who has memorised the location of every dog friendly cafe within walking distance, and will occasionally refuse to walk anywhere but towards them, resulting in lots of undignified pulling and dragging, or is our dog special?
When we first got Hedy, there was some debate about her age. Various people put it at 1 year, 18 months and 2 years. (We eventually went with 1 year). One sign she was still young was that her paws were still mostly pink. Now, at (probably) 4, she only has a few pink spots left.
For a second I thought that was a, picture of my dog, which was very confusing.
These new warning signs in the park, now that they have finally finished cutting up all the downed trees. I love that the person illegally climbing the timber still attached a safety line.
