Years into the process and I have literally JUST finished the first draft of my Roman novel. A lot of fixing and editing to go, but wow, what a feeling! Now for a booze drink.
Everyone thinks Guardiola’s next job will be a national team, and he turns up at the Scotland match. Coincidence? Haggis tapas por favor!
32 bit graphics were the logical evolution of ancient mosaics
Not sure it reveals anything, but it is interesting to know that Christopher Nolan had Troy (2004) taken off him.
My god, Starmer is out of touch. THIS is how he thinks he’ll win round voters who can’t afford to buy bread. Like painting the bedroom because the house is on fire.

Parenti spoke with such clarity and compassion. A rare talent and heart. A huge influence on me. So sad to hear of his passing.
A billionaire who literally bought voters with millions of dollars said this.
The Holdovers is an unexpectedly good Christmas film. Not great but solid across the board. Paul Giamatti is great as a curmudgeonly ancient History teacher; the script is packed with Classical references.
Am convalescing with this excellent series about Mussolini. The lessons for the 21st century are stark.
I finished writing this tonight. It’s a textbook for National 5 Classical Studies, the first of its kind. I’m not sure but I think the last Scotland-specific Classics textbook for schools came out in 1983. Anyway, it’s 220 pages long and will be available for free/donation from tomorrow.
The way they have made pixel versions of the actors is really cool.
