What to say? Retired from the corporate rat race. Fly fish, hike, and backpack but age and knees falling apart have seriously limited ability. But I’m still out there
My kitty Ruby went cah-crazy over the lizards yesterday. This lizard on top of the couch cushion (blurry. Sorry. I had to get into the floor) really drive her nuts. I love her tongue blip at the start
Martha F-ing Stewart this weekend with pickles done Friday & Saturday and salsa today but FORGOT TO PUT VINEGAR IN THE SALSA!!!! Had to reprocess but luckily had enough dome lids. Roy Kent is my spirit animal today as his certain word is my favorite. 20 pints. Included the well loved recipe
Grandson & I on 7/14/22 at Lookout Mountain east side of Mt Hood OR US which the Grasshopper has burned. Nowhere close to that amount of snow this year. Maybe in May? #OregonFires @jeff-merkley.bsky.social @wyden.senate.gov
My cat is a weirdo who doesn’t. Only once in a tipped over laundry basket and once in a bag. But she’s my weirdo
Ice Lake in the Wallowa’s Eagle Cap Wilderness south of Joseph in NE Oregon US. Probably one of the most beautiful places I’ve hiked (sorry Glacier) w/ 30+ switchbacks. Yeah. Kicked my butt but glad I did it #BackpackingOregon #EagleCap #IceLake
The Grasshopper Fire east of Mt Hood is bad. Mt Hood Meadows has been evacuated. Air quality in the 300-500s from Hood River to Sandy.
Douglas Lake in Eagle Cap lake region, northeast Oregon, US. So much beauty there but this one was a stunner #EagleCap #BackpackingOregon
Smoke from the fire this morning from the Warm Springs Reservation fire. My heart goes out to them. The Akawa fire that threatened Sisters still has residual hot spots that our brave firefighters continued ur to mop up but it’s thankfully almost done
I love your pictures but don’t think that’s Mt Bachelor. Too pointy. First picture Maybe Middle Sister? It’s the only pointy one there. Second picture is The Three Sisters. Just took these off our deck. The view is why we bought our house
Looked today. No swallowtail caterpillars 😢. But lots of seeds for next year’s volunteers ladybugs on the basil
Thank you. As an Oregonian living in the midst of all that smoke, picture from my house, I’m sorry too for the Orange grifter
Last night looking north to Warm Springs Reservation. Highway 26 was closed as the fire crossed. Second pic is satellite of the smoke. Thank goodness Akawa has been tamed and Sisters is safe. I worry for the Painted Hills
Crazy watching a helicopter drop into the Deschutes River Canyon to get water to fight the fires
A bit of a mess in Oregon with all of the raging fires caused by lightning strikes. Eastern Oregon has many big fires & the one close to home is the Akawa Butte fire near Sisters where it’s knocking at their door with evacuation alerts. Tonight looks better after the big rain yesterday
My local bookstore, #HerringboneBookstore, has a resident kitty. I love shopping local, especially now! #CatsofBlueSky
A grand weekend at Natural Bridges OR. The ranger station shockingly said camp fires were allowed in fire ring. Shockingly because there’s a fire 35 or so miles south. Built a fire the next morning & as it died out the fire service came by to say no more fires allowed. Good
Milky Way from Lookout Mountain east of Mt Hood, Oregon, with eastern Oregon fires
I still don’t think my grandson, now well past 15, knows that Lilly died. Took him to see her when he was 2 and she had just gone public. Stuffed Lilly and Mama Rose were his favorites
Rogue River in central Oregon US at Natural Bridges near Crater Lake #waterfallwednesday
Kelloggs breakfast. The most yummy yellow but I’ve never had great luck with them Sprayed the BT Monterey bacteria on the tomatoes to ward off/kill horn worms, dumped bunches of blood meal to scare off the awful rock chuck, & put out oil and soy sauce traps for ear wigs.
