I’m working on this series representing Sant’Ambrogio in Milano. I worked on the second panel and will share that process in another post. #ECK #WestCoastKin #architecture #BlueSkyArtist #ContemporaryArt

St. Peter’s Church. Vienna. Yesterday late afternoon I sat on a bench to the left facing the church. Last time there were horse led carriages. This time it was lined with antique cars with a “city tours” sign on the dash. #international #ViennaArt #BlueskyArtist
Two Towers. Sopron, Hungary. Painted onsite yesterday. Watercolors & charcoal pencil. See alt text for details. #international #sopron #Blueskyart #architecture #ECK #WestCoastKin
This is from the Fire Tower in Sopron, Hungary. What’s out your window today?
Yes, that’s an astute observation. This is Lion. I changed the eyes 1 or 2 years later.
The alt text reveals the details. Thank you for having a look. It feels good painting #horses again. #ECK #WestCoastKin #mystical
This is the color palette for a new project I’m working on. I first created it at Sant’Ambrogio in Milan. I sat on the concrete floor with a few watercolors and a small painting journal I’d bought in Rome. Some places I visit I keep painting in different forms. #ECK #WestCoastKin #ltaly
If you’re in Vienna, stop by the gallery, July 1st for the opening. I will be there 2:00 - 8:00 PM on the opening day for an informal artist talk for anyone interested in learning about my art work, process or to meet in person. Details on the flyer. #artexhibition #ECK #Vienna #WestCoastKin
This painting I did is from the Viennese Woods. I created this about two weeks ago. #ForestFriday #ECK #WestCoastKin
If you see this post, post your #birdart 🪶🐧 Inspired by a past trip to New Zealand’s South Island at a penguin sanctuary, last year I painted these penguins on a hot summer day, when I was wishing for cooler temperatures.
These pictures indicate my introduction to being shown as a debuting artist for the first time at the opening in Vienna at Toolip Art Gallery. #WestCoastKin #ECK #emergingartist #vienna #kunst #speeches
I wanted to take Ela’s picture. I let the memory become the picture. I write about a small conversation in Vienna that remains long after the moment ended. #Storytelling #Travel #ECK #WestCoastKin #International #Wien

Scottish Highlands, III. Oil with Cold Wax Medium. 12 x 12 inches; 30.48 x 30.48 cm on archival paper. Unframed. The third panel in the Scottish Highland series. #ForestFriday #Scotland #ECK #WestCoastKin #Landscapes #NaturePaintings
I went to my first Toastmasters spring conference. I’ve been doing what’s called club hopping, where I practice a speech and attend the different clubs’ meetings as a guest speaker. I loved meeting previous and new club members & watching speeches. #PublicSpeaking #ToastmastersInternational
This painting Scottish Highlands, II is the second panel in the series. The tape is funny bc its a technique of playing with the border, ripping the tape in a way of showing another view of the painting. #ECK #WestCoastKin #BlueSkyArtist #fog #AbstractLandscapes #NaturePaintings
Scottish Highlands. Oil with Cold Wax. 1st of 3 panels in the series. 2022. Read the ALT text for details. #ForestFriday #ECK #Highlands #countryside
On Stewart Island, a painting I did from sitting on the shoreline of Stewart Island in New Zealand watching godwits and blue heron looking birds. A smiling dark-skinned man rode up on a horse with two pale skinned people following on two more horses. It was a shared moment of excited wonder. #horses
Sharing this painting and giving access to people who might not see art like this is exciting. Jen (middle), Makaila and Kane helped me get my art on Peinetti’s bakery walls. Jen’s giveback to local community is having rotating artists for 2 months. #BigPainting #WestCoastkin #teamwork #thankful
Circo Massimo is up on the walls at Peinetti’s. After two tries, it was team effort from the baristas Kane and Makaila and owner Jen. Also included made in house pepperoni roll and coconut latté. #grateful #teameffort #bigpaintings #ECK #WestCoastKin #international #RomanRuins
I’m holding a painting that I’ve just put on stretcher bars to be taken to a café bakery outside of Pittsburgh for the month of May. This acrylic painting on rolled linen is my biggest one yet. This summer Circo Massimo is ready for a new home. #ECK #WestCoastKin #big paintings #Rome

In the building of layers the second one became the first one. Disclaimer: I was not feeling awesome. Usually the painting improves because I start feeling better. This time the intuition nudged: you better stop now. And a reminder; wait ‘til the next layer on another day. #alignment #ECK
This was my next layer from the previous one I did yesterday as part of the 15 minute painting practice. Mainly responding to the color, forms and palette knives that my intuition was guiding me to. I did another practice today … to be revealed later. #ECK #WestCoastKin #ArtProcess
Two new paintings. Round scribbles → cover-up → layers. The only predictable part. Last night I was thinking of Sant’ Ambrogio in Milan, the original idea for the two paintings. Next: The Selves, Part I. Is there a Part 2? What do you see? #ECK #WestCoastKin #ContemporaryArt #ProcessPaintings
In Rome in 2021 I created a drawing by covering the paper in black charcoal and using the eraser to create the sculpture before me. I remember how hard it was unsure of how I could create what was before me. After I got into the flow, it felt like painting. #ECK #BlueSkyArt #RomeItaly #charcoal
This is a solo exhibition I’m having at a coffee/bakery shop called Peinetti’s in Jeannette outside of Pittsburgh. Jen had a dream of having a bakery. Every 2 months different artists have showings. This wall of my art is called “Four Seasons.” I’m rotating each wall biweekly. #BlueSkyArtShow #new
I painted this in Rome in 2021. I painted and drew in July that year during the pandemic. This is panel three of three which started at dusk and continued until dark. I often would start in watercolors before moving to acrylic. #ForestFriday #EastCoastKin #Scape #PaintOnSite
