12 years after repeal, the City Council passed a new non-discrimination ordinance. In 1991, opponents of equality once again took it to the voters in an attempt at repeal—but this time, they failed. It was a close vote, but our non-discrimination ordinance remained in place.

I’m voting for @melvincarter.bsky.social on Tuesday, and it isn’t an especially hard choice. There’s a lot of talk in STP about how we need to do the basics really well. A lot of that talk has come from me! It’s something I ran on because it’s something I hear all the time from folks in Ward Four.
I'm proud to live in Saint Paul. Every day, I see how we build a city that puts our values into action. In just the last few years, I've watched our city make big strides forward—enacting essential protections for renters, raising the minimum wage, and passing earned sick and safe time for workers.
