We found our queen in the school yard. A tiny kitten who seemed scared out of her mind. We took her in. Very said she was a "throw away" and not even 6 weeks old. Who does that? She lived with us and ruled the roost for 20 years. She was our queen.

I am re-reading Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer. It is a book that resonates with me but I came across this sentence today and it seemed apt for the time. Maybe our learners will learn what it really means to lead.

Love it when things come together. We had a great workshop on making comics from Freeze DNA comics amd it inspired a great father's day gift, dad as a superhero. The kids loved it and it turned out great.

My kid named their kitten Taz for Tasmanian devil and this lives up to its name. I love the grandcat but she really is a menace.

We spent Valentines Day sharing love from the junior students at my school. We delivered cards the kids made to residents at my MIL's long term care home. She helped with the deliveries and it was amazing to see how much happiness can be spread with a reminder someone sees you and cares about you.

This amazing human has made me laugh, taught me to appreciate the world around me and propped me up when life was hard since he walked into my life over 3 decades ago. As he celebrates another orbit around the sun, I hope there are many many more.

We love the holidays in our house! We love putting up lights and filling the winter darkness with a bit of joy. Today we got an acknowledgement for our work. So thankful.

Decorating the tree without any of the kids for the first time is a weird feeling. We raise them to fly but miss them when they do.

The last of our garden came in last night. I dug up and repotted the herbs last week. I have carrots to last me all winter now.

I'm thankful for so much this Thanksgiving, family, friends, still being able to feed everyone with veggies from the garden, a kid who is an amazing potter making a new pot for an old plant allowing new plant babies to grow in the old one.

Our class goose and I on the GO train headed to school. The kids loved it! They named it Shine and baby goose is Blinky Pie. I love grade 1 &2's. They cant wait to take Blinky Pie home for the weekend.

Some times you just have to sit on the shore and let the waves take the stress away.

My kid reminded me that tradition is important, so we went to opening day of the CNE, just like we have for 20+ years and it was so worth it. Ate too much junk, rode a few rides , laughed so hard, played a few games (hubby finally won at bingo twice). It was an awesome day.

My mom says I tired myself out screaming this morning. Orange deaf cats need to be loud to be noticed.

I grew my first crop of garlic! We have some early carrots and our first ripened tomatoes too. I love gardening!

Today was a reminder of what sometimes happens when you try something new. 16 years ago, I said yes when a friend asked me to try dragonboating. All these years later, I am still paddling with the Wild Chicks, pushing myself, getting our best times, and having a blast.

I don't mind being early for dragonboat practice when this is my view and I have a good book.

We got an unexpected early morning visitor today. He was so handsome. Love seeing new wildlife in the back yard.

This is Willy and Sam. The brothers were adopted to avoid splitting them up. They are almost 18, one is deaf and the other has diabetes but both love treats and curling up next to you and though not the brightest bulbs, we love them so much.
