Happy #makeaterriblecomicday, everyone! Looks like my artistry will be the cure to what ails ya! Or should I say… what SNAILS ya? Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha! It’s funny because I added two letters to the beginning of ”ails” which forms a word noticeably kinda sorta mostly related to the comic at hand. Neat!

Panel 1: “Isn’t it funny? Well, not “funny, per se, but interesting. The circumstances of where we are. That so much hate can exist in the world, but we can CHOOSE to be kind. To smile. To say “hey’, and make someone’s day brighter.”

Panel 2: “I exist. My colors go outside the lines, and my lines themself are imperfect. But I can still feel. Make others feel. Without perfection. And what does perfection mean, if there is so much beauty in imperfection? To diverge from a given path, when done for yourself rather than the sake of it, is a wonderful thing. Why be normal when to be weird is so… unique. Different. Special. [Special is underlined.] Does my design make sense? Not especially. I’m an orange amalgamation with an “M” for an eye and a stem before my head. But I am not incomprehensible. I can be recognized, no matter how bizarre. And I find that wonderful.”

Panel 3: “For even an amateurish silhouette to convey my being, I must be doing SOMETHING right. Or… maybe something wrong. After all, if everything were combinations and permutations of perfect shapes, art would stand out all the less, wouldn’t it? Or at least be less freeing. But what is freedom, really? Is it the ability to choose your own choices? In a sense, yes. But I think there’s more to it than that. If you “make your own choices”, but are bound to the structure of your self-defined framework, would that not be true freedom? Maybe nothing matters. But if nothing matters, we can choose to do what makes us happy. Engage with those who make us happy. Friends, and family, and loved ones… and everyone else we love and care about. Appreciating those around you, and yourself, is freedom in my eyes. Saccharine? Perhaps. But if to love is to be trapped, then I don’t want to be free.”

🎨 Artists! Show what built your style! 🎨 A lot I didn’t include here, like Mario (3D World specifically; love Mario!), Invader Zim, Gumball, and Wander (which didn’t “build” it but influenced it later), Tom and Jerry (cartoony faces and body contortion??), and more! More info on each in alt text!!

A screencap of the Phineas and Ferb theme song, at the end where Candace yells “Mooooom! Phineas and Ferb are making a title sequence!” as Phineas gestures to the camera and Ferb keeps a firm grip on the red guitar in his hands. The floor is yellow and the background is gray, both with little triangles pseudo-tessellating the surfaces. I unfortunately couldn’t include any blue triangle backgrounds, since this was the picture I felt best represented the show outside of the clip art.

Phineas and Ferb (Seasons 1-4, to be specific; they’re the ones that influenced me and also I just don’t like Season 5 LOL) is like… probably the biggest influence to me. As an artist and a person. Like, I would obviously have SOME wordplay juice in me without it, because I would still have Undertale to fall back on. But I don’t know if I’d be as optimistic or upbeat. Or as into music, really! I’m listening to a Phineas and Ferb song as I write this, in fact!! “My Undead Mummy And Me”. It’s neat. And also features the word “conniption”. So, as you can see, it’s very much influenced my vocabulary.

Liiiike… they had a gag in one of the episodes (the one where Buford’s DNA brings a bunch of potatoes to life? “Lotsa Latkes”, I believe?) where Phineas and Ferb just have a list of incredibly long words that start with S, like “sesquipedalian” and “septuagenarian”? And it’s just… it’s me. It’s my essence. Phineas and Ferb is my essence. The title characters’ rampant creativity, Candace’s neuroticism, Perry and Doofenshmirtz’s wacky battles… it’s very… VERY me.

I love it!! I LOVE IT!!!!!

Update for my #emmytherobot #vn / #visualnovel on #scratch! Emmy’s got a redesign, everyone! Not necessarily to be more comic-accurate, though that did factor in, but to look more… clean. Polished. Like a nandroid would be! Took a, uh… around year-long break. Whoops. Hopefully you all haven’t gone.

The new Emmy design is on the left, looking more polished than the old one. Her hair is symmetrical (apart from the left tuft being in front of the right tuft; from our perspective at least) and her buttons have a slight lilt to the right to signify the direction she’s facing. Her face has more of a curve at the bottom, and her dress looks more neat. I’m just now realizing the perspective is off because why would her face and top-half of her outfit look as though it’s facing us when every other part of her body looks as if it’s facing right… but, I digress. Even the crown looks cleaner, not fully even but no longer having any jagged edges and at the very least being more even than it was before.

To the right, we have a shocked Molly, one hand on her hip and staring at this new Emmy design with obvious shock. They’re both in front of the yellow background that has seemed to become a trademark for this visual novel.

Molly now looks annoyed, her eyelids down and her eyebrows furrowed as she holds her hands out in protest and asks (in a red text box that befits her, of course), rather presumptuously, “Where’s MY redesign?” Emmy’s smile has fallen into a neutral expression at this as she looks at Molly wordlessly.

A spot the difference of sorts! The Emmy from… more than a year ago now, wow, is on the left, and the new redesign of Emmy, from… almost a year ago (I procrastinated HARD on posting this) is on the right. Both are in their default smile, but their mouths are open because that was the only sprite I had left-over from the Emmy “pre-design” in the project W.I.P itself and I really didn’t want to scour through previous releases just to find one where her mouth was closed. I had to make a temporary new sprite just to show off the pre-design separately from the “new” Emmy, Somewhat obviously, this scenario will be impossible to find in the real game (or any demo scenarios), more impossible than the other mock-ups due to the fact I am probably not going to arrange this all again.

With a side-by-side comparison, some more changes can be sensed. Most notably, the redesign has: more rounded edges of Emmy’s uniform tufts, a smaller and straighter nose, and more ovular cheek-plates that don’t fully curve at the bottom, almost like a quarter-circle of sorts.

Emmy is looking at Amy, looking… very odd. The eyelids of her left eye (our left; her right) are moderately narrowed, while the eyelids of her right eye (our right; her left) are even more narrowed. Her mouth is small, to signify shock, with her eyebrows raised. Most notably, however, she can be seen with a very visible eye-shine; something that makes the eyes pop a bit more, in my opinion.

Amy is opposite Emmy, on the right (our right, her… well, she probably wouldn’t give a straight answer if you asked her which direction she was anyway), delighted and with her own eyebrows raised in joy instead of shock. Her bottom-eyelids are raised to further accentuate her happiness, and she’s speaking, an open smile with her top teeth visible.

Her text box reads, with text smaller than it usually is (and as such, it blends into the background a little bit more): “Wow Emmy it is so cool that your redesign has a toggle to give you an eye-shine and also your pupils face the direction your eyes are”

After this, the text continued under the textbox, partially cut off: “and also that your eyelids have been given a bunch of new costumes”

The text coalesces in the bottom-right corner in the screen, each individual level stacking on top of each other to create a smear of black pixels and jagged lines. Even though it’s not legible in the image whatsoever, what I wrote, for the sake of posterity and preservation, was: “and also that we can change the size of our text and also that all your emotions haven’t been fully redesigned yet and also that Monkeyman took almost a year long break from working on this project and also”

(I purposefully ended the text on an “and also” for the sake of comedy, don’t worry, there isn’t anything extra I forgot to add/am purposefully omitting. There is also no commas nor other typical grammatical touches in Amy’s dialogue, also for the sake of comedy. I feel as though out of all the Nandroids, she would be the one to use run-on sentences.)

…well… I want to do something! And I hereby promise I won’t beat myself up for not being able to do so, but the desire still stands! I’ll see what I may be able to finangle… soon! Probably! Hopefully! And finally, third of all… look! It’s pi! I unfortunately missed Pi Day, but look! Numbers! Neat!!

But that’s not why I took this screenshot, nay. The reason is because the reposts are 3 and the likes are 14! 3 and 14! Like Pi! 3.14! And, if you’d forgive my indulgence, there’s also 1 comment; as in, 3.141, the next digit of Pi! What joy!!

Update: Lucy has become microscopic. I don’t know what will happen if she keeps shrinking… will she implode? Will the UNIVERSE implode? Will we zoom in so much that the watermark will become gargantuan, large enough to the point the picture will just be of one solid color? There’s no way to know…

The Melonparfait signature has grown, now reading “{MELONPARFAIT???}” in befuddled confusion.

Lucy is nowhere to be seen, but if you look close enough, you can vaguely see a string of pixels that vaguely resemble a very small version of the “MWAHAHA~” chibi Lucy usually says. This implies that:

1. Lucy is microscopic here, unable to be denoted by even a single pixel (except maybe a single vague off-color pixel denoting that there MAY be SOMETHING akin to a coagulation of matter)

And 2. micro-Lucy’s vocal chords are so strong that her words can faintly be heard even when she’s literally a microorganism… what a feat!

I’ve taken this to the logical extreme…! Of course, while it may be the logical extreme, it is lacking a certain… how you say… Lucy-ness to it. As such, you can take it to its PLAUSIBLE extreme and continue to make Lucy smaller while still keeping her individual characteristics! The joke lives on!!

A picture of “chibi Lucy’”, in quotations because the only thing shown off in the “drawing” is a cluster of 12 pixels (five orange ones, the same color as Chibi Lucy’s hair, and seven black ones that serve as an outline), with a drop shadow and a “MWAHAHA~” above her head. She must be speaking really loud for each letter to be as big as her!

Technically you COULD go smaller with five pixels (one orange, four as an outline) or just one (one orange/black pixel, that’s it)… but I felt this was better for the joke.

In the top-left corner, is Melonparfait’s drawing signature, bigger (relative to Lucy) and it instead reads “{MELONPARFAIT…?}” as, well, it’s debatable whether or not this constitutes.

I hope this is an adequate funny, as Ignis might say… well, he’d say the word “adequate” at least. And the word “I”.

Okay okay, but in all seriousness I DID actually complete the quiz. I‘m not making the same mistake I did the first time (see: alt text), where I did fake results and no real ones. Here it is! I‘m Normal Type! Honestly, sort of expected. Hopefully I don’t come off “bland or simple at first. though.

My actual genuine results for “What Type of Gym Leader Should You Be?” (You’d think it would be “What Type Of Gym Leader Would You Be?”, but, that’s semantics.)

Under an ad for “The Autism Test” (I would surely score an A on it), my result is: Normal Type! A bunch of Normal Type Pokémon are pictured, like Pidgey, Eevee, Snorlax, Jigglypuff, Wigglytuff, Lickitung(?), and around a hundred others that I don’t know the name of. I didn’t even know half of the ones I DO know were normal type, honestly.

The description for this type reads:
“You got Normal Type!

Normal Type is often known as the ordinary type, one of little interest or shine, but it's quite the contrary! With only one weakness, Normal Types have an excellent defensive typing, only needing to worry about fighting types. Normal Type Pokémon also frequently gain moves from other types, giving them an advantage, even if they don't get any bonus for using them.

Crazy how removing one word completely changes the tone of the comic…

In panel 1, Sluggo has a sign around his torso, and is presenting it to Nancy. “I painted dis sign myself”, he says, to which Nancy replies “It LOOKS it” derisively, as in the next panel, she walks away and says “That grapefruit doesn’t look REAL”, leaving Sluggo somewhat offended.

In the third panel, he looks at a poster that says “Guns For Sale” (instead of “Water Guns For Sale” in the original comic) placed upon a window.

In the last panel, Sluggo shoots Nancy’s face from the center of the grapefruit in his sign, asking “Does it look real NOW?” Admittedly, I did have to remove some stray droplets to accentuate the effect, so it’s not JUST changing one word. Still, though.

Bonus Comic!! What juicy Lucy hijinks! One could even be inclined to call it… DEVILry! Not ME, to clarify. But, you know. Someone.

In the first panel of this relatively low effort comment, there is a wide-eyed (wide-M-ed?) persona me orange guy, blushing as I stare at @melonparfait.bsky.social’s rendition of Lucy in a devil costume, drawn by her and not me because I’ll be honest I didn’t really want to draw her LOL this is meant to be more of a bonus comic rather than a standalone thing in itself. She is sitting on something that looks suspiciously like the top of an Ignis pumpkin, as a Shade pumpkin and half of a Lime pumpkin are in the background. Also, a watermark for {MELON PARFAIT} to the left of her left horn. Because once again, this is not MINE!!!

In the second panel, the only thing changed from the first panel is that my mouth is now open as a speech bubble above my head has a stretched “a”. I am so in shock, that it isn’t even handwritten; it’s a font!

And finally, in the third panel, a red explosion replaces where my head is. Or my head explodes. Either one. It’s actually the SAME red explosion from when my head exploded in the reply-exclusive comic I made for Melonparfait when my persona said “UNDERTALE?!” aaaand, uh, yeah.

Happy #trinitysaga #thursday! Or as I like to call it, #trinitysagathursday! Because there’s nothing SCARIER than having Trinity Saga Thursday on a Friday! Or being a week late for Halloween! I think this is proof that me and Ignis wouldn’t be… BEST chums… but, it also shows good lighting, so, eh.

Me (my cartoon persona guy, he’s orange with a white M on him and has a green stem) with a hand on his (my?) face and looking at the blue Ignis pumpkin from Melonparfait’s 2025 Halloween Trinity Saga celebration thing. The Ignis Pumpkin is on a brown table, as we’re both in a sort of… dark yellow room (which is less dark and more gray, but it still has some darkness to it). I have an eyebrow raised as I ask “…Soooo, you’re like, a *pumpkin* for Halloween, huh?”

“*pumpkin*” is bolded, and doesn’t have the asterisks around it.

The room has darkened, as the room is near enveloped completely in darkness and I (my cartoon sona) have noticeable shading on my person. My right arm has a light yellow shine to it, as the Ignis pumpkin’s eyes are glowing yellow in the dark (sort of like a Jack-O-Lantern). I’ve walked forward and the table is to the right of me in the background, the aforementioned Ignis pumpkin is staring at me in concern (an eyebrow lightly raised as well).

With a serious expression, eyebrows furrowed (which you can barely see due to the lack of light), I dissonantly announce “…Of course, you realize what this means, Ignis ol’ buddy ol’ pal ol’ Ig ol’ Nis…?”

Suddenly, my cartoon persona goober is brandishing a knife (with three special sparkles), enveloped in a red aura amongst a sea of blackness not dissimilar to a determined SOUL in a certain battle box. Anywho, I have a manic smile on my face, my M-eye-thing having specks of red and darkness in between its spaces as a red speech bubble with a jittery white outline proclaims “IT’S PUMPKIN CARVING SEASON…!” (“PUMPKIN CARVING” is noticeably bigger; the whole text is also jittery.)

In the bottom right corner, one of those special little red-and-white things appear, like, you know, when you kill someone in Among Us, I guess, and the Ignis pumpkin is within it, rattled and fearing for his life (and a shiny yellow exclamation mark above his head)!

In the final panel, we see the aftermath of the previous events; it turns out all that had transpired is that I had used the knife to carve a mustache onto the (now displeased and slightly exhausted instead of fearful) Ignis pumpkin on the table. To the left of him, is me, holding my hands together as I stare at him happily, the room now filled with light; more specifically, a light yellow room with a lighter yellow circle.

On the side of the table, there is a completely diegetic watermark of “monkeyman2020”, along with a second carving stating “11/7/2025”. What could these two things mean in tandem? Perhaps it is a way to identify the artist and the date this was drawn; or maybe it is some premonition on a terrible event that will befall this Monkeyman on that fateful day. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see…

To start: I have a FNaF animation I’ve been working on for… a few years, I think. I procrastinate a lot and lose/gain motivation somewhat sporadically… and recently I’ve gained it! I’ve finished a night and a half for it, planning to go up to the full… 7 nights. Here’s a scene from Night 1! Golly!!

Zero indication this person is wearing a mask, unlike the person on the far left of this same panel and both Nancy and the person in the witch costume. I take this as confirmation that anthropomorphic animals exist in the Nancy-verse. They’re also wearing a suit and tie? To a costume party…?
