Had a wonderful time at my final MEGAWEEK for the Leaders For Just Schools Program in Houston. One of the new parts and changes that I like was eating breakfast with those from our state in the program. This year, I have work on my problem of equity that I must do.

Randomness from today with my room’s view: The woman behind me on the plane accidentally hit me on the head when she let the guy next to her out; smash burgers are DIVINE; thankful for the stipend to cover food and transportation; can’t stop thinking about Bertha and its impact on my return.

Eek! I have never dealt with this before. This could impact my departure on Friday!

I leave for Houston for my third and final NEA LJS Megaweek tomorrow. The weather will at least be a tad cooler than when I was in France last month.

Been revisiting Madonna’s magnum opus (“Ray of Light”) this evening. This song is really hitting tonight.

Sunsets like this one will always lift my spirits.

There are several people here on the French post from the Canadian PM thinking that Lindsey Graham was referred to as a woman here, mainly because of SA vie. The SA is feminine but that is because VIE is feminine. It can mean his/her life based on context. Sighhhhhh.

This post that I did on Threads angered people. I even got told that I haven’t traveled much.

This French Connection Burger with poutine at the Toronto airport was a lot, but DELICIOUS. Under an hour until departure!

Visited beautiful Annecy today! When we were doing our lake cruise, we got extended time because French investigators had to come to investigate a drowning. It was an interesting, not as hot day.

Had a nice guided walking tour of Vieux Lyon, a cheese and meat tasting in an Édith Piaf themed place, free time, a ride up the funicular to see the basilica and Roman ruins, more free time, and dinner. Tomorrow is the last day. We are going to Annecy, which is somewhere I have never been.

Returned to Dijon for the first time in years since I studied there and made a wish at the owl, where my collection began. Also, enjoyed a tour and tasting of mustard (including a coffee one) at the Moutarderie Fallot. I enjoyed it so much. Dinner in Lyon was also awesome.

Once back in Strasbourg, we had free time, we went to on an informative river cruise of the city center, went to the cathedral, and had dinner. Many of the kids are enjoying the pool tonight to recover from the scorcher of a day.

We started the day today with an excursion to Germany to see the huge cuckoo clock. There was a shop, where I got a ton of owls. Also, the scenery was absolutely beautiful.

We started the day with an enjoyable Virtual Reality experience called « Eternal Notre Dame » in Paris before taking a scorching hot TGV to Strasbourg. We then convinced our TD to delay the walking tour until tomorrow as multiple kids were sick and one got a bloody nose. Dinner was phenomenal.

Pictures later, but today has been a lot better than yesterday. Still hate the weather though.

AccuWeather says 102. The airport is going to feel like HELL as AC isn’t used much anywhere. Ughhhh.

Our first day in Paris is on Tuesday. Can’t wait to be sleep deprived and be hot as we walk around. I can’t wait. This might be my last summer trip to France.

Been enjoying the IN Educators of Color Conference, which is the BEST conference of ISTA. If you didn’t come this year, do so next year. So many good and necessary discussions that need happen and continue beyond the conference walls. Already looking forward the next year.

Interesting. I have never seen this done before on an English word. It works just like Noël in French as it indicates to pronounce both vowels.

What are these? These scare me immensely.

My students and all of the other students did an awesome job with their final production of the year. However, I have new nightmare fuel: one of my students in her nun costume running at me to say hi after the show with a wild look on her face. Live theatre is awesome. My students are awesome.
