"YELLOW BUG"
Driving up next to a yellow bug,
I was completely starstruck,
The car itself looked super vintage,
The driver looked around the same age!
I poked my head out into the heat,
My words had to travel through the street,
"I LOVE your car!!!" I yelled with a wide smile,
Thinking that shade of yellow's totally my style!
I love the matte finish of the paint, too!
My aunt used to have one, but hers was blue,
Although she wasn't always kind to me,
Somehow the bug doesn't bring back bad memories!
I excitedly barked, "Are you the original owner?"
My giggle wiggled its way into a laughter,
The lady enunciated with her mouth and her hands,
Fifty-something years the bug's been with this woman!
"Is this yellow her original color?" I continued to pry,
"Yes, she came this way," the lady proudly replied,
Suddenly, the red light turned green,
The cue for us to exit this nostalgic scene,
I yelped, "Thank you so much! Have a good day"
We quickly said our farewell and went our separate ways.

Jiggle a little, wiggle a little,
Blessings are dressed up as troubles.
Jiggle a little, wiggle a little,
Sometimes fresh apples, sometimes giant strudels!
Jiggle a little, wiggle a little,
Monday procrastinating, Tuesday right on schedule.
Jiggle a little, wiggle a little,
Today zero cup of coffee, tomorrow several.
Jiggle a little, wiggle a little,
Under the Buck Moon, the silly wolf lets loose and howls a little!

"1994"
In the year 1994,
I joined a movement to prevent war,
I became an exchange student,
I learned about other cultures from my international friends.
Borders and politics didn't matter,
We loved and enjoyed each other,
Music, dancing, and pizza brought us together,
Elven months of fun and laughter.
When we had to leave, we all grieved,
We would never wage war on each other; we would forever vote for world peace.

Questions are prohibited,
Just listen and believe it,
The baseline of blind faith,
Surrendering our souls without getting paid!
A future dated promise,
Heaven could be just a myth,
Our minds can't evolve,
If someone else controls our thoughts!
So, we have to make a decision,
Can we see all of us as one?
Can we embrace diversity and open-mindedness?
Not billionaires and politics!
Time's running out,
1984 cannot be our route.

"2 PM on a Friday"
Hiding behind a school bus, I hope nobody can see us,
Maggie's putting some blush on my cheeks, It's the first time we get to sneak around this week!
The nuns have been hypervigilant,
Apparently, cosmetics turn us into villains,
Vanity is something they are trying to kill, But they're fighting against teenagers' will!
The color of the blush is very mute,
A subtle way to rebel against this abuse, We still don't want to get in trouble,
We just want to be bad...a little.
It's cosmetics for goodness's sake, It won't be our most horrible mistake, Though the shimmer might give it away, We'll chance it; it's 2 PM on a Friday!!!

Poem: "One Day"

Obviously superior
They don’t let me get near
Too many feet distance
I’m their possible opponent
I can hear them gossiping
In their dialect, they’re judging
This desperate Asian lady
A new enemy or a possible bestie?
I’ve tried to dress in black
The next plan is to sprinkle snacks
I don’t give up easily
One day I’ll make them love me!

My swing was outdoor. Like a 3 seater with a cover shade. That was childhood swing. So, when I grow up, it turns into a red accent chair (or 2). Now I have 1 inside and 1 outside!! and now I think I'm adding orange. LOL.
