Lately I've been playing one of the older games in my Steam Library and this time it's Vampire the Masquerade: Redemption! It's an RPG but the story takes place in two eras between the Middle Ages and then 1999 before Y2K. Definitely loved the gameplay plus the characters you meet along the way.

Lately discovered this old anthology series called The Hunger. Was surprised later that some of the episodes were also originally short stories by Gemma Files and other horror icons of the 90s like Tanith Lee. Highly recommend checking this out!

Some Recent Reads I've enjoyed lately are Phrogger by @candacenola.bsky.social Ex-Boogeyman by Kristopher Triana Both were clever throwbacks but one was for an old video game and the other was for slasher movies of the 80s and 90s. Thanks to both for writing these books! #splatterpunk #horror

Skin Thief by @sillysyntax.bsky.social or No Will Come Back for Us by @premeemohamed.com but what if they were made into an anthology TV series format like Masters of Horror, The Outer Limits, or Black Mirror. Or some stories individually adapted as their own miniseries or episodic serial format.

Making it official that I'll be joining the upcoming jam hosted by @monstermanorbooks.bsky.social and that I'll be bringing a short story/novella project I've had on the backburner for sometime. It was partially drafted last year but being retooled to fit the summer theme.

Here's art of a recent OC I had made for a future WIP by @Varnie.Vamp from IG! This is Vincent, a vampire character that inspired by Morbius from Marvel and somewhat Vampire: The Masquerade.

So far this week I made 8 new character sheets and some were lost last year but remade with more expanded or revised info. Haven't quite drafted but I have focused on creating and restoring more OCs since the year began. And some of these were for JumbieWIP but I added a two news OCs to the folder.

Then: Dale and Savita Khemraj lived in their family home back in New Jersey but they lost it in a house fire after running away that same night for different reasons. For aloof Dale, it was his dad's obsession with a folk scholar that mysteriously disappeared a long time ago. Today it's an obsession that's now passed onto him as it may hold the key to redeeming a past transgression. For Savita it was that same dad that caused her much torment and suffering to her mom. Today she's grappling with blackouts with gaps in her memory after a childhood trip to her extended family long ago, but with a mysterious voice speaking to her.

NOW:
In a race against time, siblings Dale(29) and Savita(30) must unravel their abusive father's mysterious secrets before Savita is implicated in a murder she didn't commit(or did she!?) and their tightly knit Indo-Guyanese community is shattered forever. But their familial bonds get put to the test when an attractive reporter starts nosing around, and their investigations hurtle them into an underground world of spirits, jumbies, and mysterious paranormal elements best left undisturbed.

Dale’s still avoiding me most of the time only showing up when it’s the least expected. But everyone around me just seems so blasé about it. The only one besides Dale that seems to keep some effort with what’s going is this weird voice in my head. I’d say she’s like my mom, but whoever they are keeps trying their damnedest to be mine. Her voice rings into my ears even when I try to slam any doors inside my own mind to at least hear what friend is telling me from my computer monitor.
She’s been taking online classes since moving in here and the semester just started. To have all this on top, that’s the only reason I try to keep my mouth shut when she just loses it. "
