Look, there are lots of things wrong with the DSA, and M4A has no chance of passing in the next two decades (at least). Still, Chait hates both of those so intensely that he's lost the ability to think and write.

The final paragraph of an unbelievably bad piece by Jonathan Chait: "Health care is probably the issue that least differentiates the DSA from the Democratic Party. If you favor public ownership of the means of production or believe forming coalitions with communists is important, then joining the DSA makes a lot of sense. But deciding to be a democratic socialist because you care about universal health care is like ditching a Toyota for a Rolls-Royce because you want your car to have a steering wheel."

Here's another bizarre section: she completely misrepresents Elizabeth Warren to suggest that two income households *introduce* economic precarity instead of respond to it. That can't be a misreading, so she has to be lying. Also, it was two decades ago, not "many."

Famously, many decades ago now, Elizabeth Warren in “The Two-Income Trap: Why Middle-Class Parents Are Going Broke” points out that when it becomes the norm for both parents to take home a paycheck, you introduce a fragility in the domestic economy where if either parent for any reason stops earning, that’s a problem. And particularly, if the mother stops earning because she’s had a baby, that becomes a real problem. Because if the assumption is that you have two paychecks and you’re competing for, say, housing against other families who also have two paychecks, then families with a single income are at a disadvantage.

Also, the language is peculiar: How large was the cut? "Destruction of delaminating surface material" says the material was *already* delaminating. Who made the report? The whole thing is deliberately evasive.
