Backrooms movie review. It hit for me in a very personal way 💚 spoiling because my review has some triggering content Cw parental death, suicide, grief

WILDLY unsettling. I clenched up so much at all the sweeping shots of rooms. I've had recurring nightmares of endless office for my whole life, some of the movie felt like seeing that, over and over.

I lived in a hoarders house for a while, my adoptive parents were that way. They both died in that house, and my siblings and I cleaned up after it. It was years of clutter stuffed into that kind of prefab architecture, a step up from a mobile home mostly. And I remember the rooms as they were, I took pictures so I could remember their clutter after they passed. I have videos of them, I'm lucky because I wouldn't remember their voices. But those rooms, the ones where they lived and I lived. Those rooms are there, even if they're empty. They're full of something for me.
