Really sad to hear that Kavinsky passed away. Like with many people, his Nightcall song was pretty much my gateway drug into the synthwave genre, which then contributed to my fixation of its overall blue and purple light aesthetic in my art. Rest in peace, dude.
Sonic XG got a new preview demo released. There's plenty to enjoy about it, and despite this being a new take on the original's, it still has some traits that make it feel like an old fangame in an endearing way. I do have some problems with it, but there are a lot of positives overall.

Yeah, apparently XG is supposedly alive and occasionally posting updates on their Twitter account. I do really like how they kept the high amount of shades with the soft shading even in their recent sprites. Kinda keeps traits of the older sprites in the new ones.

One thought I also had is that it could help to make the ears bigger overall. Did a quick experimental draw over on top of the model screenshot using the box art design as reference, though I don't know if all of these would be applicable or not!
Personally, I like the thought of Moon Child having flat eyebrows, as opposed to pronounced ones. Gives him a simplistic spherical appeal on the head, like on the box art of the game!
Thinking out loud, but a 2D action run n gun Star Fox game in the same vein as Contra, Gunstar Heroes, and Alien Soldier would be so fucking dope
It just hit me that Fox having a scouter was a Smash Brawl invention, and it just stuck to Fox in every game after I just thought "maybe Command introduced it, since SSBB Fox is based on that design", but even the outfits are radically different
