I thought this was a rather nice diorama of a F-104 parked at a tree line. *Not mine (!)* but found in Bentink model shop in Apeldoorn, Netherlands. I totally forgot to ask who made this. Really my kind of thing 🥰.
So the 1/72 Special Hobby Fouga Magister is done bar a couple of repairs. Will fix those later but prob won't have pics ready on time, so I reckon these might come to count as final pics before #bastillebuild is over. Went for the 1980s modelling mag aesthetic. More info in alt. #HistScaleModels
Watched part of a film called 'Propeller One-Way Night Coach'. Based on a story by; screenplay by; produced by; directed by; and narrated by John Travolta. It is in my head now and I have no idea what to do with it. It's excruciating in a very subtle way, like reading an L Ron Hubbard book.

Looking very impressive. Those colours look very 'right'. I tell myself that if when I want to attack orange peel with sanding, I have to sand every step of the way starting with the primer. Otherwise it brings out the uneven paint layers under the top layer. Kind of this effect:
Hey #HistScaleModels, does anyone know what the deal is with Special Hobby decals (2023!)? They won't adhere, break in water, and generally misbehave at every turn. Neither soft nor aggressive decal solutions help. *It's as good as it gets now* --but I'd like to know if these decals have a bad rep?
Plonked the Heller canopy on the 1/72 Special Hobby Fouga Magister for the #BastilleBuild -- still needs polishing. I also painted the tail fins first, so I can stick decals on and then plastic parts (= fiddly sequence of tasks, best to stick the fins on at the last moment). #HistScaleModels

Took my Iwata hp c to the airbrush doctor because of spray inconsistencies and other issues. I was expecting needle or nozzle damage, but it those got a clean bill of health. It just needed a very, very thorough deep clean and to be better lubricated. It feels like new! #airbrush
Hi, I build 1/72 aircraft. My preferred subject is NATO in the year 1983. Why 1983? It focuses my scope and it was also an interesting year in the context of the Cold War -- as well as in pop culture. My modelling philosophy is: accuracy in shape is more important than accuracy in detail.

On the topic of aftermarket. There's a nice annual Belgian model show called KMK Scaleworld. I'll miss this year's installment (31 May), but at last year's show I got these great 1/72 decals by Strop decals, which I plan to use for the #BastilleaBuild 's Fouga. Can't wait!
Because the #BastilleBuild 's 1/72 Fouga Magister is treating me so well, I'd decided to reward it with a bit of aftermarket stuff. Wheels because the kit ones are actually 1/72 frisbees, and masking tape. Progress has mostly been limited to finding ways to detail the cockpit. #HistScaleModels
Before contnuing with the Bastille Build, I wanted to revisit these shelf queen Transalls. There's a step between the kit's wing trailing edge and the fuselage wing box that can only be solved filling and sanding. Rinse and repeat, kind of looks acceptable now. Needs rescribing tho. #histscalemodels

Haha, kind of what just happened to me too. I think Liquid Gravity is only useful in closed conical parts. I mixed it with ca glue gel and scooped the blob into the Fouga nose cone, but it's open at the front so I had to be careful. Also some of the blob ended up on the outside aargh.
I was at Aviation Megastore near Schiphol airport to buy some Liquid Gravity this afternoon. The Fouga's microscopic nose needs a dumbbell's worth of weight, I hope this stuff can help. The plane in the background is not French in any way shape or form by the way.
