I think I have a thing for drawing seaweed. After the completion of my great 21-month drawing project, I am enjoying reconnecting with the simple pleasures of drawing small things, in my holiday sketchbook. #sketchbook #drawing
I have now completed Drawing 116 of "A Never-Ending Way (Vol. 4)". My final destination, the gate at the end of @hinkseyheightsnaturetrail is now ahead, the place where I started this 1.75-mile drawn walk back in November 2024. One more #drawing left to do. #pendrawing
Drawing 115 of "A Never-Ending Way (Vol. 4)" is now complete after two days of concentrated work. I now have just two drawings remaining to complete this 1.75 mile drawn walk of Hinksey Heights Nature Trail, (Oxford, UK) and it will be strange to leave this 21-month project behind. #drawing
Today in my fridge, I discovered the only condiment known to travel at 186,000 miles per second.
It took a lot of work to build up the depth, and the contrast of strong sunlight in the open, or filtered through the leaves. Drawing 113 of "A Never-Ending Way (Vol.4)" is complete. I'm getting close to the end of my 1.75 mile drawn walk of Hinksey Heights Nature Trail, Oxford, UK. #drawing
Drawing 112 of "A Never-Ending Way (Vol. 4)". Intense sunlight casts pools of whiteness, and splashes of dappled light through the trees. #Drawing dense foliage slows me down but I am happy to linger in these last few drawings. Only about 150 yards left to complete my 1.75-mile drawn walk.
Drawing 110 of "A Never-Ending Way (Vol. 4)" is now complete, and I'm rather pleased with it. I there are signs of improvement. 🙂 This is the final double page drawing and also the final section of boardwalk to be drawn as I close in on the end of this 20-month long drawn walk project. #Drawing
Over the weekend I have worked hard to complete Drawings 108 and 109 of "A Never-Ending Way (Vol. 4)". Only 9 pages left to do. I'll be sad to leave this wonderful drawn world that I have inhabited since Nov '24. But some things have to end to make way for new things to begin. #drawing
They should get him a pair of those "wide awake" glasses Homer Simpson wore for jury duty. #SleepyDon
Drawing 105 of "A Never-Ending Way (Vol. 4)" is now complete. Volume 4 retraces the path of Vol. 1 as it heads back to where my drawn walk began in November '24. The second photo is the same spot as depicted in Drawing 15, in December '24. #HinkseyHeightsNatureTrail #Drawing
Drawing 104 of "A Never-Ending Way (Vol.4) is now complete and I have reached what we call the Lower Lake (a pond really) on @hinkseyheightsnaturetrail, a favourite spot for many. I am now "only" 15 pages away from returning to the spot that I drew in Drawing 1, back in November 2024. #drawing
Drawings 101 and 102 of "A Never-Ending Way (Vol. 4)" together. Just time to complete another page over the weekend. I shall miss this project when it's done, but also be excited to turn my hand to something new. #drawing #pendrawing #landscapedrawing #walkinganddrawing
By way of a quick update, #Drawing 101 of "A Never-Ending Way (Vol. 4) is now complete. #HinkseyHeightsNatureTrail
Four Wainwrights, 34,000 steps and an evening in the pub. The #LakeDistrict is bloody brilliant. Crazy good weather too. 🌞👌
Toasted #Gingerberk. Maple has not been very well this weekend, but is much better this evening. We suspect that he ate something unspeakable, probably from a bin.
Holidays are a great time to get some concentrated #drawing done. Another double page, Drawings 97 & 98, are now complete as I near what we call the Great Oak on @hinkseyheightsnaturetrail. Head down for the next key milestone: the 100th drawing. "A Never-Ending Way (Vol. 4)" continues.
A week away from it all in Scotland has been just what I needed. God, I don't want to go back, though.
A close-up of Drawing 97, which I completed yesterday. I'm quite pleased with this one. With the coming of Spring I have to find a softer way of mark-making. This often means a heavier use of dots, and pointillism. "A Never- Ending Way (Vol. 4)" is now almost half complete. #drawing
Almost immediately, Baron Harkonnen regretted going for a swim in the Thames. #NationalizeUKWater #ThamesWater
More progress with "A Never-Ending Way (Vol. 4)" after a lot of work this week: Drawings 95 & 96 are now complete. It's good to be able to show some shadows as the spring sunshine strengthens. #Drawing #hinkseyheightsnaturetrail
