Me going through Mom’s stuff: Mom: Don’t keep everything just because you think it will be useful ten years from now. Me: Okay Mom. Don’t worry, I won’t Coming from the woman that never threw away anything, it was surprising. Tells you what dementia will do to change a person.
I used some scrap wood and used hinges to make food safe table risers. The legs fold under so they can be easily packed in the trailer. Perfect for picnic tables
While cleaning out my mama's house, in a box, in another box, we found our daddy's wallet. Inside his wallet was this photo of our mama. They married in 1954, at 19 (him) and 16 (her). He died 41 years later, this photo still in his wallet.
I've been tweaking my office shelves. Added a couple of things, edited a couple of things, and rearranged some other things. I'm liking how they are shaping up. I'm going to sit with this for a few weeks while I tackle the Southwest corner of my office 📝
Future trailer reno. I'm taking out the unused furnace & putting in an electric fireplace. All of this has to wait until it gets cooler. For now, I'll make sketches, take measurements, add wishlist items to my amazon cart, and create a budget. Stay tuned for fall updates
After work tomorrow I plan to take two plastic paper trays and turn them into necklace holders to match my new shelf and earring holder. Of course, that all depends on motivation. The heat sucks it out of me

Murphy's first ever doggie report card. Same dude, same
Mom is napping. I'm enjoying wine, chips, and the view from our room.
Mom and I are drinking chocolate milkshakes. Mine is boozy, and Mom's is protein-y
Confession time: I'm not a financial expert. In fact, I'd describe myself as a financidiot (financial idiot). What I lack in financial knowledge, though, I make up for with curiosity, persistence, and one librarian superpower: I know how to find reliable information.
Tufts of ethereal fur drift like quiet ghosts through the hall— Where are they born, these soft wanderers that twist and tangle on unseen currents, until they settle beneath the furniture, there to rest, there to gather, there to welcome others home.
I'm building my retirement on-ramp now, even though my off-ramp is still a long way down the road. Apparently, planning for retirement is my hobby until I can afford to have hobbies. 😄 The goal? Have the plan ready before the paycheck stops. #Retirement #Planning #SpreadsheetsAreMyLife
Mom and I got our summer cuts yesterday! ☀️✂️ Humidity + less weight = my waves finally decided to make an appearance. I think I'm officially embracing the summer hair! Now I need your opinion: should I add some highlights or leave it this warm caramel color? 🤎✨ What would you do?
I've worn my engagement ring for 43 years. The setting is only about 20 years old, but the center diamond belonged to my husband's grandmother and dates back to 1910. The setting needs to be replaced again, which has me thinking...
Oh gee! I just paid down my credit card and private student loan balances. For fun, let's see what my credit score is today. Bank: Loan account balances decreased Credit card balances decreased Me: 👀
Part of Mom's sundowning is to scratch her skin. I try not to let her get to that point, but sometimes she fools me. Keeping her nails short is a must for her skin health and her mental health. Every time I get her nails done I say, No gel polish! They rarely listen. 1 hour later, here we are!
Soaking up a little vitamin D in the smallest lounge garden ever. I've packed a lot into an 8 foot by 10 foot area. A fountain, seating, plants, and if you look carefully a statue.
Wish me luck! pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/35470491/ #dementia #caregiver
I've started using red plates, because it helps dementia patients with food recognition. They eat more and are less confused. I also use 8" plates. She thinks there is more food than there actually is and she is from the clean plate club. #dementia #caregiving
