Things spotted on my run today

An old looking brick was featuring a blue plaque in the style of the ones that commemorate where famous people lived. This one reads “1829 absolutely nothing happened here”.

Apparently it’s not too warm for a cuddle

I got home from work and the cat immediately summoned me to sit in the conservatory and watch the garden with her. I don’t know if she wants my company when she does this or if she thinks I’ll like it, but either way it makes me happy.

I can’t mention Maggie without paying the cat tax. This is an image of a tabby cat on a scratched up wooden patio table. I picked my first couple of courgettes. They’re not huge but apparently picking them encourages more to grow.

We’ve been harvesting things in the garden today. The rhubarb is going to be turned into rhubarb and ginger jam, and we’re just going to eat the gooseberries and wild strawberries.

It’s #caturday and Maggie is having that dream again

We have a rickety old conservatory that’s freezing in the winter, boiling in the summer, and damp when rains. Our indoor cat loves it.

Yeah, ours is back from the road but I still wonder what the neighbours think. We’ve also left this massive beautiful weed growing in the front lawn, and I dread someone “helpfully” cutting it down before it flowers properly.

Look at this cool moth! According to my resident entomologist, this is a poplar hawk moth.

On my outstretched hand there’s a big grey moth. It has long white attenuate, a grey fuzzy chunky body, and stripy speckled grey wings. It has a wingspan of about 5-6cm.

My old neighbour Sandra used to tell me how much she enjoyed watching my sunflowers grow. I still plant them for her now, even though we live 150 miles apart.

We have two sets of cutlery. I love the one on the left, but the one on the right is for emergency use only even though they’re newer and more fancy
