Since there's so much St. George discourse today, I'm reminded of this superb passage from Julian Rathbone's book about the events of 1066 - it starts with William The Bastard rallying his troops as told later by Taillefer, then cuts to Taillefer & Quint discussing the story... #StGeorgesDay
