My husband, our daughter, our 100lb lab, and I were all within 15 feet of this beautiful hawk for about 10 minutes. Oh, and our desert tortoise which was apparently what caught the hawk’s eye!
Our feathered friend (Harris hawk?) took a liking to our desert tortoise. Roxanne Shivam took refuge, but the hawk stayed quite a long time flying from place to place along the fence. Beautiful. (BTW, Roxanne Shivam is a teenager now and too big to be picked up by a hawk.) #Tucson/Marana

Vouchers are destroying democracy in AZ. I detest funding segregation in schools which can legally reject kids based on religion or disability. And they do. Kids return to public schools after being told that they’re “not a good fit.” We’ve lost voter oversight on the spending public tax dollars.
I don’t know this child, but she speaks to frogs so I adore her. A Panamanian Golden Frog followed her from one side of the tank to the other & back while she talked to it. It stayed in the corner watching her go after she finally waved goodbye. It ignored me. Cheers to wondrous bonds.
