With everyone up in arms about AIPAC influence, it’s worth noting that other lobbying groups spend much more on candidate support. Yet no outcry on the US CoC which supports businesses over people, or the National Assn of Realtors (relationship to high cost of housing?) or medical organizations?
They do this by closing multiple SS offices across the country, thereby delaying payments through lack of proper staffing, or by decreasing benefit payouts directly. Many Americans then say “Enough!” and start demonstrations across the land. Demonstrations get angry, then violent
Being a cynic has its advantages. We are able to see the full truth of matters great and small, and we never believe in the fantasy of happy endings. Sure, we want happy endings, but don't expect them. We are cursed with the ability to see worst outcomes.
