8. OPTIONAL: In addition to the HMs, between 11TH – 19TH DECEMBER 2026 you may also choose five songs originally released between January and September 2025. The songs must not have already qualified automatically via #TheTwen2ie5 – these were confirmed in December 2025. Additionally: a) if you already awarded such a song 10 points or more in Part I you may not choose it in Part IV; b) if you awarded it 5 points (HM) in Part I, you may award it 5 points in Part IV; c) if you did not pick it in Part I you may award it 10 points in Part IV. No bonuses are permitted under Rule 8. To help, a playlist of eligible songs with more than one pick in Part I can be found here. I also have a record of who awarded these songs points in Part I.
9. OPTIONAL NEW RULE: On exactly the same basis explained in a) to c) of Rule 8 above, you may also award points to ONE 2025 song that qualified automatically. There are only eight such songs and they are listed here. The aim here is to ensure that automatic qualifiers are not necessarily disadvantaged by Rule 8, as most of them were close to the borderline on points.
10. OPTIONAL NEW RULE: In order to give us a better chance of consensus, you may also send up to 20 extra songs from October 2025 – December 2026 as HMs. Under two strict conditions: 1) only by email after 15th December (see Rule 12 below for the address and deadline) and 2) every single one must have been publicly posted by another player, i.e. these must be “boosts” only.

#TheN0ughtie5 Tapping the sign again... You may be ok on Rules 5A and 5B, but this is the only rule that at least someone has failed every time. It has to be applied strictly, and immediately, to be fair to everyone who does rank their songs in advance. There is no appeals process.

Ranking your picks in part or in full is optional. If ranking, your top five must receive the bonuses above. If you would rather use the bonuses differently, do not rank your selections. Also, do not rank (especially not a full 50) unless you are sure. If you openly swap a song into a ranked list during picking season, I will void all of your rankings.

1. There will be another condition for full participation on all 28 days. I won’t say what it is, but it should be impossible for a true enthusiast to fail.
2. Slightly restricted participation (21 days) will be offered to anyone meeting the original requirement of 160 main and 20 HMs, but not meeting that additional condition. More restricted participation (7 days) will be offered to i) those not meeting that additional condition more than once and ii) players who completed one or two of the main 50-song challenges (Parts I to III), or completed all of them but missed HMs.
3. I would not take anything written here as definitive until the full rules and guidelines are published between 27th December 2026 and 1st January 2027.
