How it looked before closure. Quite the downgrade from early 20th century.
Before it was announced it wouldn't reopen some old signage was revealed.
Abbey Wood with its Royal Arsenal co-op shop. The co-op didn't just build shops but the whole Bostall Estate. A total of 1,052 homes up to 1914. Unfortunately the shop closed for good a few months ago after more than a century (and it lost all character long before).

Development in Greenwich gets underway. First to rise is a storage unit with the adjacent residential element set to start. Post soon on the latest here
Marks and Spencer are to soon close their Lewisham High Street branch for a car-centric out of town retail park unit in Sydenham. Ironically the digger is for High Street improvement works which aims to draw more shoppers to the town.

Spotted the good year blimp earlier. I'm sure the thing flies all over London but the only place I ever see it appears to be Lewisham - and that's going back about 30 years. As a child it often seemed to be above Lewisham Tesco. One reason I nagged the parents to go Lewisham compared to Woolwich
Looks like people have started moving into the new Stratford tower seen on the right
If German car makers die soon in 50 years time people will look back at the likes of awful modern BMWs as a reason why. Not to mention dull as dishwater VW and Audi's.
Post-war housing in Woolwich, and good examples of it too. Whether it's still standing in a decade remains to be seen.
Demolition of former college buildings in Plumstead. New homes due on site. Pretty much equidistant between Plumstead Southeastern/Thameslink station and Woolwich Liz line.
Eg Plumstead underpass upgrade linking 2k new homes to nearby station. Took a load of pics last week before the official opening. Need to write up post about it.

New block in Thamesmead. Looks great. A bit odd though that highest density in this part of south Thamesmead's redevelopment is furthest from nearest rail station and bus stops. Now if only Peabody could finally start on phase 3 of 7. Behind schedule again, and its already delayed many times

Train leaving Plumstead station heading towards Woolwich. Can just about make out a rising block directly ahead behind the new leisure centre.
Newly opened Cambridge South station. I know sod all about the area but few if any new homes nearby and what is there is very low rise. I know people crying out for new housing in Cambridge so that doesn't seem wise?
