Good afternoon from Seney Wildlife Refuge earlier today! Beautiful drive - lots of swans, geese, ducks and loons in the various pools throughout the refuge. No moose sighting today, but we always seem to be there the day before a sighting. Maybe we should head back tomorrow?

Morning visitors A button buck wandering in the yard played with a couple of fawns for a while, then they settled to eat some grass. Momma showed up just a bit later and the button moved on alone. Thanks for watching the kids, Uncle Buck!
Choke cherries in the area are looking good so far this year! We hope they will make it to harvest season this year - we are almost out of choke cherry jelly, and it's an often-requested flavor for visitors from downstate.
Hey... your bird feeder is empty... I've checked the hives three times now since this yahoo wandered through our backyard. I'll just have to trust the motion-sensor light and the solar fence to keep the hives intact tonight. Love to have wildlife visit, but this one can keep moving on!
This may be the reason why our bird feeder ends up on the ground once in a while...

It's been nearly five years, and I recognize those visits and reminders as the gifts they are. Spent the day tearing off the old deck for a rebuild, and I find two old tennis balls under the deck - courtesy of our Bailey. Thanks for these delayed gifts. Gone too soon, but always in our hearts.
Nope - sorry, but no obituary news to share. Just some delightful cirrus clouds floating over my neighbors somewhere in Ontario.
We can smell the honey from the hives at night, so I know this guy can as well. The hives survived the visit (e-fence likely helped), as did the (empty) bird feeder. The seed block further out, though, not so lucky. Confused turkeys and a pudgy raccoon now look to the house saying 'WTF?!'

Heyyyyy... It kinda looks like he's lying about another assassination attempt just to support the 'need' for that stupid ballroom. I'm thinking about the boy who cried wolf too often... Everyone stopped responding to his empty lies, and then the wolf really came. I'm rooting for the wolf.
