Can I brag about my cucumbers real quick?

I am in the minority here... but I kinda hate this whole elopement trend. There are unnecessary add-ons brought to you by the wedding industry for sure (so many named in this thread) but I'd like to play devils advocate and state: while stressful, the gathering of humans in blessing and communion of your marriage gives an energy to the union that you and your partner and a witness alone just can't. 10, 50, 100+ people gathering in the name of Love is special and holy occasion!

On Valentine’s Day we break out the nice candlestick holders

Thank you! The inside is smooth- this one actually started as a mug, and then I decided it would be a better bowl. Either way, they all start as a normal form, and then once I have a good shape, I add the texture to the outside.

How it started vs how it’s going

An unglazed handmade bowl. It is a reddish brown color and has a wavelike texture across the outside surface.

The same bowl, now fired. The exposed clay at the bottom has a dark brown, almost black finish, with subtle white flecks. The wavy pattern is now covered with a blue glaze that breaks over the texture.

TW: pet loss/death A few days ago we had to say goodbye to Radagast. He was the sweetest, friendliest cat I could have ever asked for. Words cannot express how special he was or how much I miss him.

Important PSA about pet microchips: 1. After your pet is microchipped, you need to register the microchip. It is useless otherwise. 2. If you registered with Save This Life, they shut down and gave no notice. You need to register the chip with another database. 1/? (Pics for attention)

Yes! I’m thinking slate blue cabinets on the bottom, with a natural hickory on top. I also found this countertop that goes well with the colors I picked. It looks like it has marbling of both colors in it. (This all started because my upper cabinets are falling off the walls 🙃)

Since I’ve been reminded that biphobia is alive and well, I just want to brag about my bisexual husband. He’s the kindest, most thoughtful, most creative man I’ve ever met. He cooks for me. He makes sourdough. He makes the most beautiful ceramics that I get to eat and drink from every day. 1/?

A handmade ceramic mug. It is roughly cylindrical and bellies out in a soft curve near the bottom, with a mouth that flares out slightly. It has a beautifully arched handle with a spot to rest your thumb.
The mug is a dark blue color at the base, with a blue and white pattern that looks like choppy or icy water near the top.

Some wins from Maine: Question 1, an attempt at voter suppression, was strongly rejected. Question 2, the start of some common sense gun laws, passes by a similar margin. This is what happens when we turn out. This is exactly what they were trying to suppress.

While everyone is paying attention to Maine politics, I’d like to remind my fellow Mainers to get out and vote on (or before) Nov 4. Vote NO on 1! Question 1 is “solving” a problem that doesn’t exist and stripping thousands of Mainers of their rights.
