I was at #GibraltarPointNNR on Tuesday, and I saw some lovely plants: Sea lavendar, sea rocket, and soapwort (all three new to me) as well as rosebay willowherb - I've seen none of that locally on the Fen Edge this year(!) #WildflowerHour #WWT #LWT

I thought stinking iris was an eye condition until I saw one this week for the first time... Also new-to-me were heath bedstraw and creeping oxalis. I've just got to show you these foxgloves (at the Lodge, RSPB HQ) as well - they were gorgeous! #WildflowerHour

I was admiring this broom at The Lodge Nature Reserve on Wednesday. DYK it holds a major place in British history? The 'plante à genêt' was adopted by Geoffrey of Anjou - father of our King Henry II - as his emblem and the Plantagenets were named after it. #Bloomscrolling @rspb.bsky.social

I 've seen lots of smol flowers this week, including rue-leaved saxifrage, doves-foot cranesbill, small-flowered cranesbill, and hairy tares. #WIldflowerHour

I haven't made it out for a wildflower walk this week, having fallen root over petal after last week's, so here is the greater stichwort I saw last week - a lifetime first for me. Oh - and I want to start a petition to spell it 'wildfloewr' so that I type it correctly first time 😀 #WildflowerHour

A slight change of scenery, from the Flatlands to the Greensand Ridge at Sandy. A glorious half-day at the Lodge ( #RSPB HQ). Jays, Ravens, a Buzzard, and I saw my first-ever Redpoll!! I loved the #trees and landscape as much as I did the #birds. #Nature
