NOT ONLY DOES NEGATING A FRAME ACTIVATE THAT FRAME, BUT THE MORE IT IS ACTIVATED, THE STRONGER IT GETS. THE MORAL FOR POLITICAL DISCOURSE IS CLEAR:
WHEN YOU ARGUE AGAINST SOMEONE ON THE OTHER SIDE USING THEIR LANGUAGE AND THEIR FRAMES, YOU ARE ACTIVATING THEIR FRAMES, STRENGTHENING THEIR FRAMES IN THOSE WHO HEAR YOU, AND UNDERMINING YOUR OWN VIEWS.

People think the Democratic win in Virginia in the redistricting/Gerrymandering contest is a good thing. Yeah, maybe, but it's also just another normalization of post Trump political bullshit. It shouldn't be like this, we shouldn't have back and forth state to state battles redrawing political maps, there should be serious adults in control, people who genuinely respect the process and the history. We shouldn't have Gavin Newsom posting idiotic faux Trump memes on social media essentially saying "hey, if you're an idiot, I can be one too".
The more this game of shit chess becomes the norm, the more this country will fail.

It's odd how the charge of 'be grown ups' is only applied to Dems.
A little history & perspective: the first time any state ever redistricted mid-decade (vs. as part of the census) was in 2006...it was Repubs.
Justice Kennedy, in the majority opinion at the time, decided that there was "no explicit prohibition" in the Constitution (or Congress) & therefore no one could sue to stop mid-decade redraws. Of course, since then, Dems in Congress have tried repeatedly to introduce legislation to ban mid-district efforts and gerrymandering on general (the same way they've tried to introduce gun safety, climate action, federal minimum wage increases, etc.). But, as you can imagine, to no avail against Repub numbers, which themselves were the result of the gerrymandering went on steroids in 2010 with Karl Rove's Redmap. As far as the current moment, it was (AGAIN) Texas, specifically the Repub supermajority in the state legislature, at the DIRECT BEHEST of Tr*mp no less, that arbitrarily redrew their own maps (not just Congress, but state legislative seats as well, essential a closed-feedback loop to ensure power).
In both CA & VA, the redistricting was passed as a ballot measure in order to go before voters AND it was done as a temporary/one-time only measure to counteract the Repubs unabashed efforts to rig the midterm.
It is clear based on the DOJ's demand of voter files from all 50 states, the test run of ICE in actions that have nothing to do with immigration & the illegal calling up of the National Guard, the Repub's obsession with the voter elimination bills (the so called "SAVE" acts), & the non-stop drumbeat of election denialism, that Tr*mp/MAGA will do anything & everything they can to deny our votes so they can keep their illegitimate hold on power (unlike Orban who conceded, there's nothing in our history to expect this in 2028). This time, they're fighting back & I, for one, believe our country will fail only if more of us DON'T fight back.
