Ireland’s two seagrass species live in estuaries and coastal waters. Subtidal meadows are a nursery for young fish and intertidal meadows provide vital food for overwintering birds. Seagrass also reduces coastal erosion during storms by trapping sediments. 🧵[2/3] ➡️ www.epa.ie/publications...
