So one of these whales has a weird tail. It's either chunks of it are missing, or these are some kind of growths or barnacles. Eastern Tropical Pacific population, maybe?
The smaller species is Quetzalcoatlus(?) lawsoni, named for the paleontologist studying these pterosaurs. This animal is known from more complete specimens, and may well be different enough to be re-classified. It was still fairly big with an estimated 16ft wingspan, even if not a giant
