🪲 - I'm fixin' for some bugs! 🔧 - Finally got around to fixing the battle fade bug. It messed up after the units got team colour shaders applied about... A year ago? 😅 During the fix expanded it to hide the range/arrow too! #IndieGame #SRPG
👤 - Who is that lurking in the shadows? 🎨 - I didn't like the escort icon. It was hard to see who you had escorted at a glance! So... Now it will show the character in the background and tint their team colour! #IndieGame #SRPG #IndieDev
Does anyone else slip garbage into their code when stepping away to remind them where they are at? Can't leave something half complete if it wont compile lol.
🎬 - Places people! Prologue: Scene One annnnnnd ACTION! 🔧 - Converting the script for my #SRPG #IndieGame into conversation JSON. Also have been cleaning up some of the rough edges on the tutorial to make it clearer. Here is a bit of the first mission intro! (BlueSky didn't like the full version.)
🔖 - Who is ready for an Adventure! 🔧 - Experimenting with an easier story difficulty level named "Adventure Mode" for my #SRPG #IndieGame. In this mode you control a single "Leader" unit and the CPU will handle the rest of your team!
💰️ - Stealing? No... I consider it... aggressive window shopping... 🔧 - Needed to rework the trading menu in my #SRPG #IndieGame. It is still a little rough but capturing enemies and looting their inventory seems to be working just fine again!
⛵️ - BOAT 🔧 - Needed a frigate tilemap for a few missions in my #SRPG #IndieGame. Quite happy with the results! Still need to do a bit more work to finalize them but they are going to look great.
🗺️ - Give me a map and I will show you the world! 🔧 - I built a map for Mission 12 today. The tools I made in #Godot help making maps for my #IndieGame simple and fun... Even if I know I should be working on bugfixes today. Wishlist if you like #SRPG's like #FireEmblem!
💔 - I knew #Godot would eventually betray me :( 🎬 - Just another cutscene day for my #SRPG #IndieGame. It is always funny seeing temporary assets pop up in serious cutscenes! 🤣 On another note! Thank you everyone who has tried out the play test and given feedback, I have been going through it all!
✅️ - Now that my #SRPG #IndieGame playtest is out and updated, time to get back to work! 🎬️ - It is fun making #GBA #FireEmblem-style cutscenes, The hardest part is now actually creating the writing and stage directions. I swear, developing the conversation engine was easier!
🏳️ - RUN AWAY! RUN AWAY!!! The above kinda speaks for itself actually... 🤭 Updated the "Retreat" behaviour in my #FireEmblem-like #SRPG #IndieGame! In some scenarios you may cause enough panic that the whole army may turn tail and run!
🏠️💬 - What do the people think? 🔖 - Here is an example of the visit action in work, perfectly helpful for gaining hints and advice from the locals! #IndieGame #SRPG #Godot
🎬️ - Cutscene chaining in my #SRPG #IndieGame seems to be working rather well, Here is a clip from the mission that will featured in the new playtest! It is still a work in progress and I still need to smooth out the edges, but all in all I am rather happy with the results so far!
🔧 - Updated the classic menu style since the new modern menu recently got a bunch of love! Also a repeat example that you can also change the diary/menu theme just like #GBA #FireEmblem. #IndieGame #SRPG
🔧 - Updated the combat forecast in my #SRPG #IndieGame support the help system! You can press the help key/button at any point to get a description of any piece of UI you are unsure of... My hope is to make everything so clear you don't need to search online for a thing! 🤭
🖥️ - With my #SRPG #IndieGame, I want to make it feel like a #GBA game. I chose the resolution 320x180 because it scales cleanly to modern displays! 🎨 - Artwork is rendered on a separate layer so it remains high-res! Want to pretend you’re on mGBA? Go ahead and minimize!
⚔️ - Updated the combat screen in my #FireEmblem-like #SRPG #IndieGame. Previously, Capture had its own menu. Now you can switch from lethal to non-lethal attacks on the fly! Additionally, I added UI to indicate you can swap weapon! I am very happy with the results so far!
🎮 - It’s more of a minor side quest after a long days work on my #SRPG #IndieGame more than a major feature. However, the #PS5 #DualSense light now changes colour depending on the active team! #Godot actually made it super easy to implement with only a few lines of code.
💃 - I have an announcement in the only form I know how... Dance. ... and because none of you want to see that here is a form you may be more interested in! Thank you everyone! It is so amazing to see my little #IndieGame get 700 #SteamWishlist 's!
Thank you I appreciate it, but... You may need to say it a third time soon... 😣
⭐ - All together now! 🔬- The new #SRPG level up screen is integrated into my #IndieGame 's combat! The stats are being added to the character and it's pausing after combat to show the level up! I love how easy #Godot makes it to string these events together.
🎉 - It's DONE! My #SRPG level up screen is complete, it's the best feeling when you're super happy with work on your #IndieGame! I just need to import it into the combat #Godot scene. 💬 - It even comes with character comment's depending on how big the level up results are!
🔧 - Still slowly chipping away at my #SRPG "Level Up" screen. Not 100% done. However, I like how "Juicy" the stat upgrade animation is, it should be good to pop in my #Godot #IndieGame soon! My friends who are #FireEmblem fans also really like it!
I know what the ladies like... 😎👉️👉️ Adaptive Input UI! Right? R-Right??? Been busy trying to give my #SRPG #IndieGame UI additional support for all types of inputs, It also works for #SteamDeck Glyphs! However clip is on my Mac so no example for that... 😅
🔧 - Finally working on a proper #LevelUp window for my #Godot #IndieGame. So far so good! 🎰 - Level Ups are the exciting bit for #SRPG's so I am trying to make it fancy. We do love it when numbers go up brrrrrr.
☺️ ~ Look who has Dyadem running on a SteamDeck! 🎮 - It is funny, I have been making this #IndieGame to feel like it is a #GBA game and this is the first time I’ve played it on a handheld. I think it found itself quite at home :) #SRPG #GameDev
Hey everyone quick update! Was aiming to get the next playtest out the door Friday. However, simultaneously linking controller input alongside mouse and keyboard input has caused a few design challenges. It is coming along nicely but requires more polish! My apologies! 🙏
