This was what the BLM stuff top Dems were doing before they won big in 2020. It was disingenuous for some, but still good & important. And definitely didn’t keep them from winning the elections.

I put this together for my book project on democratizing the US, in a chapter on higher ed. The 2020 statement helped when I taught there. I pointed to it as official university policy in my syllabi. Students didn't have to agree, but it framed the class. A few years later, white resistance won.

More positively, I succeeded in getting the shirt on international video coverage by positioning myself opposite the cameras.
