What’s the deal with right-wing reactionary types? All over the world they cling to absolutely insane beliefs? I guess no one has ever come up with a good rational reason for an unfair world.
…for in right wing political circles, where they cling to it like reactionaries do in this country the literal truth of the Bible, in the face of all the evidence.
The Japanese imperial family is thought to be the longest-reigning family in the world, and is seen as a symbol of national unity, but the vast majority of Japanese do not see the emperor as divine, except…
World War II pretty much ended that. Japan had been destroyed by its enemies, and forced to write a constitution that excluded the idea of imperial divinity.
Like in the Bible, many of the supposed early emperors were said to have lived hundreds of years.
The legend of Japan is that emperor Jimmu Tenno (Heavenly Sovereign) arrived with his people in 660 BC, and that the same family has ruled Japan ever since. The emperor was considered divine; descended from the Shinto goddess Amaterasu.
Shogunate Japan is considered by many to be the immediate forerunner of the totalitarian states of the 29th century. Neat.
So Shogunate Japan also practiced crucifixion, so that’s more common than I thought.
He’s pretty good. Not as good as Balogun, but pretty good. I’m more worried about goal keeper.

One thing I’ve learned is that fascism, for all its ugliness, is just unchecked greed. It’s theft via usurpation of government.
To all those extolling the moral superiority of “classical” western Art, Claude-Nicolas Ledoux has a plan straight from 1780 for you.
My advise to Maine Democrats is that you learn what this picture is about and follow its example.
I’m 49. The wife just went to bed. It’s a quarter ten on Saturday night. I just made myself a Sazerac and turned on Zulu with Michael Cain. 2 oz cognac 1/4 oz 1:1 simple syrup 1/8 oz absinthe 6 dashes peychaud bitters
With his populist charisma, Lueger had no scruples about exploiting antisemitism to rally his working-class base, and Adolf Hitler would laud him as “the last great German to be born in the ranks of the people” and “a statesman greater than all the so-called diplomats of the time.”
Twain glimpsed the dynamic but demagogic new mayor, Dr Karl Lueger, who had embarked on a program of urban renewal to modernize utilities, public housing, and transportation in the old imperial city.
“On October 15 (1898), #MarkTwain appeared in the press box at a meeting of the Vienna City Council, held at the ornate town hall, and watched a rowdy session defined by two incendiary issues: the large Czech presence in the city and the paucity of Jews appointed to municipal judgeships.
#MarkTwain ‘s oldest daughter, Susy/Olivia, was probably a lesbian back when that term was just starting to emerge into public consciousness. She was also intelligent and emotionally fragile, just like her very Victorian father.
