Hello!
My name is # and I've used your platform for a number of years. Over the years, I've noticed this platform's attempts to add "guard rails" for children, namely by gathering protected information from them.

Suffice it to say, gathering information that should be protected - and then failing, repeatedly, to protect it - is a rather poor attempt to make children safer.

I would have provided feedback to the company another way - if one were made available to the public apart from the Discord Teen Counsel - which, I want to point out, again seeks to gather protected private information, such as EXACT Date of Birth, physical addresses, first and last name, and other incredibly sensitive information which should be hard to justify as merely a way for teens to provide input into Discord's policies.

I am not a teenager. I am a fully fledged adult who is aware of the needs for security and boundaries, especially within a digital space where any compromised information, such as facial scans, official IDs, full name, etc. can be retained and distributed ad nauseam. It is beyond the pale that Discord's official way to consult with minors for feedback would require them to compromise their safety to a company that has already repeatedly failed to protect such sensitive information.

Respectfully, such tactics feel destined to fail - or designed to fail. I cannot in good conscience imagine someone saying "Yes, teens, please provide your Full Name, DoB, phone number (optional), physical mailing address, state, and time zone, and I will listen to what feedback you have for me."

It feels like a phishing attempt - like someone at Discord wants to compromise the safety of anyone who wishes to advocate for themselves.

This is all before we get into the disaster that is Teen By Default - again, see the aforementioned security/information breaches Discord has suffered even in the past year.
