Case in point - this comment on a Facebook post in a mental health nurses group replying to someone who was preparing for band 6 interviews 8 months after qualification 'Headhunted' for a band 7 role less than 4 years after qualification - kind of mad no?

Facebook comment. "Clinical governance, leadership, quality improvement and scenario based around staffing issues etc. Please don't let others put you off because you are 8 months qualified, years experience doesn't always mean more suited to the role.

I was a band 5 for 9 months before getting my 6 post as I was able to evidence my ability to undertake the role.

I've been qualified 4 years and I'm a band 7 and was headhunted for the role and encouraged to apply by senior staff.

Some people have no desire to move up bandings, where as others are more suited to managerial roles. There is a role for everyone in healthcare.

If you feel ready then go for it!"

Will all my meds be spoiled now? Temperature in my flat has been over 30c for most of the day for the last few days. I know meds aren't supposed to be stored over 25c but how long does it take for them to spoil? Are there particular meds that spoil quicker than others?

Flat was ok. Smaller than where I am currently and top floor/lots of stairs but I'm already used to the stairs here Damp/mould still possible (probable?)… but it is everywhere in Brighton so... 😩

What is GlobalMinds?
GlobalMinds is a research programme aiming to improve the lives of people diagnosed with depression, schizophrenia, bipolar and related conditions.
To do this, we are inviting tens of thousands of people affected by these conditions to help us create a digital dataset of health information and biological information, including genetics.
Akrivia Health researchers and our GlobalMinds collaborators will use this dataset to address the research aims of GlobalMinds, answering questions like:
• How do our genes and other aspects of our biology affect our risk of developing mental health conditions?
• Can we predict and reduce this risk for people in the future?
• How can we improve the way these conditions are detected and diagnosed?
• Why do some people become more ill from these conditions than others?
• How can we improve on current treatments to reduce side effects?
• How can we target the underlying causes of these conditions with new treatments, instead of just acting on the symptoms?
GlobalMinds is run by a research company called Akrivia Health (who specialise in mental health), in collaboration with Cardiff University and NHS Trusts.
It is funded by the Wellcome Trust and Johnson & Johnson*.
