The first photo is on Avenida Paulista in São Paulo. The next 3 are in Rio de Janeiro. Seems like they figured out how to put AC on the sides of apartments in cities.
That seems like an technical problem that can be solvable by enough smart people working on it. Is there a reason you can't just slap a bunch of mini splits on the side of the building? For example, this is a photo I took in Curitiba, Brazil. I don't know enough about UK cities to say.
Given the same temperature differential, a heat pump will be more efficient than AC. In the case of a heat pump the energy added by the compressor is useful heat, but in cooling it is additional waste heat that needs to be rejected. After going to the Easter service with my family this weekend, I decided to open up my hymnal (received as a present at my confirmation) to try play some Easter songs. Ended up just flipping through it and coming across this hymn. Written by a WWII veteran, it's unfortunately still relevant today.
Not really, one of the reagents used to make PET can be made using Ethylene. It often is but not always. Also the Ethylene part of PET is only the bit circled in red, the blue is the terephthalate. Whereas HDPE and LDPE are just a bunch of Ethylene molecules stuck end to end.
PET is very different from LDPE and HDPE. PET is not dependent on the price of Ethylene in same was that HDPE is.

Guaraná is a plant native to Brazil that has caffeine in it. It's used in a popular soda in Brazil also called Guaraná. There's also Guaraná Jesus, that's made by a completely different company and only popular around São Luis in northern Brazil where it was invented. I don't care for it too much.

A bunch of dorms and the main art building at Case are on the south side of 3 sets of double track. Made for great foaming on my way to and from class. IIRC, CSX and NS, each run more than 50 trains daily along that stretch.
