Generally not a fan of large art galleries (get overstimulated and it all starts to blur together quickly), but the Uffizi Gallery blew me away. Also loved the over-the-top Medici Chapel and its freaky reliquaries.

Can confirm, they are vicious little f--kers (not so little, actually).

Had a wonderful time at the Reversible Destiny Lofts in Mitaka, a sort of philosophical/architectural/artistic experiment that forces visitors to rethink their relationship to the spaces they inhabit.

Local cops came by to (politely) inform us about a new safety app and the flyer has a...very specific aesthetic that seems a little ill-suited to the app's purpose, but maybe they're trying to reach bishonen/Rose of Versailles fans?

Sigh, these lemon ricotta raspberry muffins were a bit of a failure, they taste good but they're way too dense. Baking powder might have been old, or maybe the fresh raspberries weighed them down.

Tokyo can be tiring but then some days you check out a new lunch spot thinking it'll be a standard 1400 yen teishoku and the tencho places this absolute symphony of deliciousness in front of you and explains each dish.

Watched なんとなくクリスタル, a 1981 film based on a popular novel that's basically a chronicle of bubble-era fashion and architecture in Tokyo. One mystery, though: the characters visit a TGI Friday's at one point. But the company claims they didn't open their first Japan branch until 1999...
